Unfortunately, this is what we have found this morning . The damage is extensive and covers a majority of the newly refurbished small green. More damage to the big green as well! Shattered!

The winter recess is officially OVER. Barefoot bowls is back. Starting Tuesday 3rd 18:30 for 19:00 start. And that’s not all. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our sponsor, the Felmingham family, there will be NO charge. FREE. So bring the family out, or come out on your own, or bring groups of your mates for a fun filled night, finished off with a sausage sizzle and drinks at bar prices.

The Lockington Bowls club is saddened to advise that after a quick 2 months after being diagnosed with cancer, Ian (Johnno) Johnson passed away peacefully Thursday night in the company of family.

At Ian's request, a private cremation will be held.

Anyone wanting to share memories or photos of Ian with the family can do so via [email protected]

In lieu of flowers, donations to the wonderful work of 'Palliative Care At Home' via erh.org.au or the Lockington and District Bush Nursing Centre would be most appreciated. Their work helped us to honour Ian's wish to remain at home.

Feel free to share this information with those who knew and associated with Ian / Johnno.

If you are wondering how best to finish this magnificent day, come along to our last barefoot bowls night for this season. We have had a great season of regular and occasional barefoot bowlers join us. Lots of new friends made and lots of laughs had. See you all tonight, 18:30 sign on for 19:00 start, followed by a sausage and beverage to finish the night off.

A lot of our members turned out yesterday afternoon to witness an epic battle in the clubs mens championship grand final! Ken Main and Phil Cunnington put up a match quality not seen for many years! The lead swapped on a number of occasions with Phil getting a break of 6 at one stage, but Ken pegged the lead back! Ken took the lead to hold 2 shots to be 24-22, requiring just one to win the title. Phil wasn’t about to throw in the towel, however, picking up 2 shots to make it 24 all. The last end saw Ken having a shot sitting beside the jack and Phil coming within millimeters of it with his last bowl! Ken held on to be crowned champion for 2022 session.
Congratulations must go to both players as the quality of the game was outstanding.
