Meet Brett 👋

As many of you know, Brett has officially started his trainer journey here at WattFit.

You'll start seeing him around more often in classes, school fitness sessions and supporting members as he continues learning the WattFit way. We're excited to have him on the team and thought we'd help you get to know him a little better.

What inspired you to become a trainer?

Through my own fitness journey, I developed a real passion for training. I wanted the opportunity to help others discover that same passion and become the best version of themselves.

What did you do before joining WattFit?

I've spent many years as a teacher and school leader. I've always loved sport and exercise, and I started my own gym journey in a community very similar to WattFit. I really enjoy the camaraderie that comes with training alongside others.

Favourite exercise?

The good old bench press. Who doesn't want a bigger chest?

Least favourite exercise?

I don't really have one

Tea or coffee?

Definitely tea. I can't start my day without a pot of it.

Favourite sport or team?

AFL and the mighty Carlton Blues.

Favourite holiday destination?

Europe is hard to beat, and I'm hoping to get back there next year. I also love heading back to Victoria to see my son and his beautiful family. Camping at Wilsons Promontory is always a highlight.

One thing most people don't know about you?

I've trekked to Mount Everest Base Camp twice.

What are you most looking forward to at WattFit?

Becoming part of this amazing community and getting to know everyone.

One piece of advice for someone who's nervous about joining a gym?

We all started somewhere. Don't wait for the perfect time because now is as good a time as any.

Jene had no idea this call was coming.

I started by telling her she’d just won the 2025 Coaches Award.
Then we talked about the real stuff.

Less than two years.
12kg down.
More muscle. More confidence. Better habits.

But the part that matters most wasn’t the weight.
It was why she keeps coming back.
