The christening of boats is a significant event for any club and today we paid our respects to 3 members John Krambousanos, Rick Bird and Leigh Blake for their long and dedicated service to LRC. A gathering of members, family and friends were on hand to celebrate with John, Rick and Leigh. Congratulations and well deserved !!!

The 19th of May saw the start of competition in the 2022 Australian Masters Rowing Championships at Lake Wendouree in Ballarat Victoria. LRC had a strong team of 14 men and women ready to rumble and show what they were made of.

Over the 4 days of competition, outstanding individual and team performances lead to epic battles down the lanes which secured LRC 3rd overall in the medal tally. This is a phenomenal achievement given the size of the squad compared to some of our interstate counterparts.

Along with the Club’s outstanding results we had strong representation in the Tasmanian crews competing in the interstate races at the regatta. LRC had 3 members in the mens interstate 8+ which fought a brutal battle with the South Australian crew to take out the silver medal.

Congratulations to everyone who competed and has been involved in the support, planning and ex*****on of this incredible result!!
