I'm a type 1 Diabetic and last Thursday I received my first insulin pump.... I'm not a diabetic because I ate/ eat poorly or ate/eat too much sugar, it's genetics at work and hence my pancreas doesnt want to produce the insulin my body needs to combat the carbohydrates I eat.
I wanted to share this because it has been hard and I'm a bit scared! Plus today is the first day I'm trying to manage the pump with exercise! All bodies work differently hence my tag line, 'ability for EVERY body'
Every day I have to do mathematical calculations, I have to try and put an almost impossible puzzle together. This is something that affects my everyday life, my mood, my appetite, my weight, stress levels, my sleep patterns, everything!!
It's pretty amazing technology and hope it makes my life a little easier!
I have a great team of specialists behind me and wonderful support from family and friends.
