Balmain Wolves U7 Match Report – Round 2 🐺🏉 Double Header
Friday night footy returned with a double header — a proper test of character.
Game 1 — Wolves v Hunters Hill Cockatoos
Hunters Hill kicked off and the Wolves pushed deep, with Fred carrying well and getting close to the line. After a turnover, the Wolves held a strong defensive line before Hunters Hill scored. Fred collected the next deep kick and made good ground, before Louis used great footwork to split the defence and score. Hunters Hill hit back from the restart, scoring after a long run, but Louis answered with another try in the corner. After more back-and-forth, Lachie made a strong run to within 10m, and good passing across the field set Louie up for a try in the corner.
Game 2 — Wolves v Petersham Blue
Louis opened the scoring with another slick try near the corner. Emile took the restart and put in a sharp tackle, but Petersham worked their way over. A great diving tackle from Sam forced a turnover, and Millie ran down the sideline for a try before taking the restart herself. Solid defence kept Petersham out for a spell before they eventually broke through. Louis collected a deep kick and made it to halfway, setting up Millie for a second sideline try — shades of a tiny Sevu Reece. Sam then burned down the left sideline from his own try line for a try in the corner. Petersham snuck one over late, but Emile’s collection from the restart led to another Wolves score.
A great double header from the Wolves — strong defence, fast footwork, and plenty of determination.
