⭐️THE PUSHUP ⭐️
A regular in our at home strength programs! The push-up is a compound movement that activates nearly the whole body in order to stabilise and execute the movement.
The movement uses and strengthens the core, chest, biceps, triceps, shoulders and upper back!! 💪🏼💪🏼
Whilst they seem super tricky at first, the pushup is a great way to measure your progress in the gym.
🔥🌶 Some hot tips 🌶🔥
- shoulders directly over wrists, with your elbows coming out at 45 degrees
- Plant your feet into the floor remembering to distribute some of the weight backwards
- Shoulders and hips stay in a straight line
- Push that ground away as you lift up
Try some these regressions to help build up to the full movement 👇👇
- Start on your knees to learn to move your body in a straight line and activate your core
- Use a chair or a bench to elevate your upper body.
- Slowly lower on your toes, reset and lift up on knees/toes
- Too easy? Add in a tempo, elevate your feet, add a clap, do it in a handstand!! Really the opportunities are ENDLESS
