An event for our first returning bootcamp on 29th May will be going up in the next few days but I thought I’d do a post for those of you that don’t know my story.
My whole life I didn’t have an interest in fitness, it wasn’t a part of my routine and I was a young mum with plenty to keep me occupied. Simply, I was the tired mum that didn’t take care of herself and tried desperately to find happiness in making others happy.
In 2017 I found myself wondering what to do with myself once my (then) youngest son started kindergarten and having recently left my desk job. I joined my local gym and honestly fell in love. I started my journey to become a personal trainer and while going through that process I was training for bikini comps (body building but not such an extreme category). I competed and placed in 2 comps while studying and another once I was qualified.
In 2018 started working as a PT, group fitness instructor and assistant manager in the same gym that sparked my love for fitness and helping others find theirs. For the next couple of years I worked with hundreds of men and women to achieve their goals and am so proud of each one of them.
2020- Covid, not a lot to say about that. Gyms were shut, we were distanced but thankfully we could still do some outdoor training together and lots of online training.
We reopened and it was business as usual, as usual as it can be post-covid, stressful but right. My husband and I were blessed with the seemingly long anticipated news of our 5th child at the start of 2021 and only a few short months later it was lockdown again. This time was different, I had a difficult pregnancy and we were completely segregated from each other. News came that we could reopen but I gracefully pulled my maternity leave forward.
Once our beautiful boy was born I returned to working from home a few hours a week but unfortunately with a baby in tow it just didn’t work (IYKYK). I took 2022 to be home with him and be in my bubble and at the start of 2023 we relocated to the peninsula and here we are. LHPT set to reopen on 29th May 2023!
5 years in one post is no easy feat. Ask questions, scroll back and get keen.
Do I have abs right now - absolutely not my personal goals have shifted with life and my goal is strength and overall health.
Will I ever compete again - probably not. I loved it but being that lean comes with a LOT of sacrifices that I’m not willing to make at this point in my life.
What is my preferred training method - strength and HIIT.
