Fifteen players took to the course for the Flag Competition, proudly sponsored by the Leinster Golf Club. For the second consecutive week, players had to battle not only the course but also the weather.

The rain stayed away for most of the day before the heavens suddenly opened, bringing hail and heavy rain. Players scrambled for cover beneath the trees, while one group decided the clubhouse offered the warmest option and retired early.

Once the storm passed, play resumed, and competitors gradually dropped out as they made their way around the course.

Some excellent golf was on display, with Stephanie Mitchell and Corey Haworth both reaching the 18th hole with shots still remaining. Returning to the 1st hole, they continued their battle for victory with the remaining players watching on. Stephanie had one extra shot than Corey and was therefore able to progress further down the fairway, claiming the honours. Congratulations to both players on a fantastic effort.

1st Stephanie Mitchell
2nd Corey Haworth
3rd Aaron Locke

A special mention goes to David Tapscott, who came incredibly close to recording a hole-in-one on the 13th. With a shot that close, we may soon see another name added to the honours board.

This Saturday sees the final Monthly Mug, proudly sponsored by CDC.

The rain arrived right on cue for the President’s v Captain’s event, marking the second year in a row that players faced wet conditions for this annual showdown.
The 15 competitors battled through some challenging weather, including a downpour midway through the round, although a lucky group managed to avoid the worst of it by taking shelter at the clubhouse. Despite the waterlogged fairways and quagmires (word of the day) underfoot, everyone showed great determination, finishing the day a little damp but in high spirits.

After a mix of closely contested matches and a few one-sided encounters, it was the President’s Team, led by Chris Scorah, that emerged victorious, claiming a convincing 5 points to 2 win over Peter Craig’s Captain’s Team.

A huge thank you goes to the Craig and Scorah families for their generous sponsorship of the day, and congratulations to all players who braved the conditions.

Congratulations go to Deegan Stewart, the club's only junior player, who took out the Individual Stableford competition with an outstanding 44 points. This victory marks his first competition win, and he certainly did it in style. His impressive score also saw his handicap reduced by five shots.

Not far behind was Teleah McGrath, finishing runner-up with an excellent 41 points, while Alex Taylor rounded out the podium in third place with 37 points.

What a fantastic day on the course on Saturday, with beautiful weather providing perfect conditions for golf as eight players took to the course.

This week's competition was a Par Bisc, proudly sponsored by the Leinster Golf Club. Despite some early confusion around the format and scoring, players soon got the hang of it, and it was smooth sailing from there.

With an impressive round and smart handicap stroke allocations, Stephanie Mitchell claimed victory with +10. Congratulations, Steph!

Coming in next were Teleah McGrath and Aaron Locke, both finishing on +5, with Teleah taking second place on countback. Well done to both of you. A special mention also goes to Aaron on receiving his first club award.

The ladies also had plenty to celebrate, with all four ladies taking home a novelty award. Between them, they claimed both Longest Drive awards, Best Second and Best Third, completing a clean sweep of the day's novelty prizes.

2nd - Teleah McGrath (+5, countback)

Saturday’s Monthly Mug was played in challenging conditions, with gusty winds testing players before the rain arrived and sent everyone back to the clubhouse for a well-earned warm cuppa.

Fortunately, all players completed nine holes before the heavens opened, allowing a winner to be declared.

Emma Paniora and Teleah McGrath both finished with 18 points, with Emma claiming the Monthly Mug on a countback. Rounding out the podium were Lisa Holland and Casey Paniora, who tied for third place with 17 points.

Congratulations to Emma on taking out this month's Mug and well done to all players who battled the tough conditions to complete their round.
