Chris Demeyer – A True Club Legend

Some people play for a club. Others help run it.

Then there are people like Chris Demeyer—people who dedicate a lifetime to building it.

For 17 years, Chris has served on the Legana Cricket Club committee, including an incredible 11 years as President. During that time, he helped guide the club through one of the most significant chapters in its history.

His leadership saw Legana Cricket Club successfully relocate to its new home, helping secure the future of the club for generations to come. It was a transformation that required vision, determination and countless hours behind the scenes—hours that most people never see.

Chris also recognised that the future of any club lies with its juniors. He was instrumental in establishing and growing our junior program, giving many young cricketers the opportunity to learn the game, build lifelong friendships and proudly wear the green and gold.

But Chris isn't just a leader off the field.

He is also a loyal and dedicated player who gives everything each time he represents the club.

But those numbers tell only part of the story.

To many, Chris is known simply as “Showbag.” A teammate. A mentor. A mate. Someone who always put the club ahead of himself and never hesitated to lend a hand whenever it was needed.

His legacy isn’t measured only in runs, wickets or catches. It’s measured in the strength of the club he helped build, the people he inspired and the generations of players who will continue to call Legana Cricket Club home.

Week 2 of pre-season training is here! 🏏💚💛 We had a great start last week, and now it’s time to keep building as we get ready for the season ahead. Training is on Thursday 3 September from 7:30pm at the Indoor Training Centre, Windsor Community Precinct. Whether you’re returning for another season or thinking about joining Legana Cricket Club, come along, get involved and be part of something big.

🏏 WOOLWORTHS CRICKET BLAST IS BACK AT LEGANA! 🏏

Registrations are now open for another fun-filled season of Cricket Blast at the Legana Cricket Club!

Our eight Saturday morning sessions will run from 9:15am–10:15am on:

🗓️ 25 October
🗓️ 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 November
🗓️ 6 & 13 December

Cricket Blast is the perfect introduction to cricket, with plenty of fun, games, skill development and chances to make new friends. No previous cricket experience is needed!

🟢🟡 NEW SIGNING — PRAMUD HETTIWATTE 🟡🟢

Legana Cricket Club is excited to welcome Pramud Hettiwatte to the club for the 2026/27 season! 💚💛

Pramud comes to Legana with a huge amount of experience, having represented his state throughout his junior career before going on to establish himself in Sri Lankan domestic cricket across First-Class, One-Day and T20 formats.

A genuine all-rounder, Pramud has shown his quality around the world, recording a high score of 142 while playing club cricket in England, along with outstanding best bowling figures of 8/33 during his time playing club cricket in Australia.

His cricket journey has also seen him named Player of the Tournament in the Sri Lanka Major Clubs T20 Tournament in 2020/21, represent Kandy in Sri Lanka’s National Super League in 2022 and 2023, spend three seasons playing club cricket in England, and be named Player of the Tournament in Victoria Turf Cricket Division One while playing for Sunshine Cricket Club in Melbourne.

A quality player with plenty of experience behind him, Pramud will be a massive addition to our playing group as we continue building towards a big 2026/27 season.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Pramud and his family to Legana and seeing him in the green and gold this summer! 💚💛

🟢🟡 NEW SIGNING — TYLER DUDMAN-WISE 🟡🟢

Legana Cricket Club is excited to officially welcome Tyler Dudman-Wise to the green and gold!

Tyler is already a familiar face around the TCL, having coached the Diggers from 2020/21 through to 2022/23, leading the side to two Grand Finals, winning one, before helping guide the club back into Premier League cricket in 2022/23.

Having really enjoyed the challenge of Premier League cricket last time around, Tyler is keen to test himself at that level again and play his part in helping the club push forward.

A genuine all-round option, Tyler brings plenty with the bat and also bowls right-arm off spin — although in his own words, “it doesn’t spin though” 😂

Great to have you at Legana, Tyler.
