Child Safety at Leeton Little Athletics
At Leeton Little Athletics, the safety, wellbeing and protection of all our athletes is our highest priority.
As part of our commitment to strengthening child safety and meeting the requirements of Athletics NSW, all parents and guardians will be required to register themselves with the club before registering their child/children for the upcoming season.
Parents and guardians who participate in club activities, assist with training, carnivals, events or other duties involving children will also be required to obtain and provide a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) where required.
This is an important part of ensuring that everyone involved with our club is helping to create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all children.
How to Apply for a WWCC
If you do not already have a current NSW WWCC, you can apply online through the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian:

The WWCC is free for volunteers and is valid for 5 years.
When applying, you will first complete the online application and receive an Application (APP) number. You will then need to take your application receipt and original identification documents to a Service NSW Centre to have your identity verified.
Once your WWCC has been approved, please provide your WWC number to Leeton Little Athletics so that the club can verify your clearance.
If you already hold a current NSW WWCC, you do not need to apply for another one. Please provide your existing WWC number so the club can verify it.
We understand that these additional requirements may be new for some families, however, they are an important part of Athletics NSW’s ongoing commitment to strengthening child safety practices across athletics.
We ask all families to please ensure their registrations and any required WWCC documentation are completed before the commencement of the season.
