Dear Ladies,
This is from our Peak Body - NSWAPA
We are deeply distressed at the Terrorist actions witnessed on Bondi Beach this week and send our deepest sympathies to the victims and families concerned. There is significant potential that the NSW Parliament will be recalled as soon as Monday with Premier Minns being quoted as saying he wanted the total number of fi****ms per licensee reduced to a maximum of 3 (the same number used by the terrorists) and abolishing Rec- Hunting as a legitimate reason to own long arms.
As at lunch time today Prime Minister Albanese has announced the biggest buy back since 1996.
The following is a list of the numbers of pistols required by competitive shooters. Action Pistol 5, WA1500 8, Metallic Silhouette 10 (the TPA Team made the NSW Finalist for NSW Team of the year) and ISSF 4 and not to mention IPSC.
If you could write a courteous letter to your local MP and we mean courteous, outlining details from this letter.
Some of the proposals such as limiting licenses to Australian Citizens seems just a no-brainer and restrictions on some longarm actions may be completely understandable but it is obvious that we are being used as a scapegoat to cover up Government failings.
Even John Howard says the gun laws are tough enough.
The NSWAPA has made representations to numerous politicians, however we are much stronger in numbers, so please just write a calm polite letter and send it to your local member.
