SUNDAY TRAINING WRAP | PHOENIX PRE-SEASON

What a Sunday!

20+ players hit the ground for a big two-hour session, and Mother Nature turned it on with an absolute cracker of a day. ☀️

We kicked things off on the oval with plenty of running and fielding drills before heading into the nets, with three nets running and everyone getting put through their paces. 💪🏏

Plenty of hard work, plenty of laughs and plenty of signs that the boys are starting to build nicely towards the 2026/27 season.

And of course, no Phoenix training day is complete without a crackin’ BBQ, a few refreshments and some good company afterwards. 🍖🍻

But that wasn’t all…

🔥 Three new signings also joined the Phoenix family!

A massive Sunday for the club and a great way to build some momentum heading into the season.

We’re thrilled to have Russell joining the club and can’t wait to see him pull on the Phoenix colours and be part of the team this season.

New City Phoenix are excited to welcome Jordan Rose, better known as “Rosey” to the Phoenix family for the 2026/27 season! 💙💛

A talented right-arm leg-spinner, Rosey brings plenty of skill and a few tricks up his sleeve as he looks to make his mark in Phoenix colours. 🌀🏏

We’re looking forward to seeing what he can produce this season and, hopefully, watching plenty of batters trying to pick which way that one is turning!

New City Phoenix are excited to welcome Sam Coonan to the Phoenix family for the 2026/27 season! 💙💛

A young and exciting opening bowler, Sam is ready to take the new ball and make his mark in Phoenix colours. ⚡️🏏

And there’s a pretty special connection to his Phoenix debut…

Sam will take the field for the first time at Urana Road Oval, the very same ground where his Dad, Stephen Coonan, made his Phoenix debut many moons ago! 🥹💙💛

Now it’s Sam’s turn to write his own chapter.

We’re looking forward to seeing that new ball in his hand, plenty of wickets on the board and Sam making his mark throughout the 2026/27 season.

G'day all, don't forget we are training this coming Sunday the 30th of August. Training starts at 10am and will run through till 12pm where we will follow up with a sausage sizzle and some refreshments. All previous, current and new players are welcome and we look forward to seeing you all there on Sunday.
