SHARE THE DIGNITY 🩷

I'm asking for some help this November to make a difference to women, teens and new mums who may be less fortunate and not have what we would call normal every day products at their disposal.

-Share the Dignity- run a 'It's in the bag' donation drive every november/December to collect new or 2nd hand bags (in wonderful condition) and ask people to fll them with new un opened daily essentials like shampoo, conditioner, tampons, deodorant etc (I've included a photo of products needed )

What I'm asking from my NP☆PT community is for is any donation of products listed, so that I can pass these on to my special -Share the Dignity- coordinator Athlene Petterwood and we can either make up a bag for someone with these items, or if you are able to do so, donate a bag with these products in it, it would be very much appreciated.

BEL ✨️

That's the face of a gal who just beat her goal deadlift weight for the year! (and we still have 3 months to go! !)

102.5kg!

I've worked with Bel for a couple of years, and our main focus has been fully strength related for over 12 months now.

The first time I had her try a deadlift, she said, and I quote, "Ooo..quite liked that one," and from there on in decided she'd like to make that one of our main focuses.

Towards the end of June, she messaged me saying she had a goal to get to a 100kg but understood she would be a fair way off it...

But, less than three months later, she hit that 100!

And she's not stopping there!✨️

Bel is such a dream to coach!
She loves hearing feedback, learning the cues to help her form, and always making me smiling with her,
"I'll just do one more rep, should I?"

I'm so proud of you, Bel! 👏 💕

Meet Athlene and Grant!

These two humans are such an inspiration!
Not only for the things they have achieved, but their pure zest for life, health and fitness 💕

I'm so grateful that I have been able to train them for the last 18 + months as they have taken on and conquered some major challenges.

This year alone their love for adventure has had them climb Mt Killamanjaro in Tanzania, which is not only a physical and mental challenge of climbing the highest single free standing mountain in the world, but also dealing with below ridiculous temps (-15 at one point) and crazy altiude!

If that wasn't enough, only a mere 2 months after the great hike, they both rode, 130km (Grant) and 45kms (Athlene) as apart of the Amy Gillett foundation ride along the Great Ocean Road.

I believe their ability to take on these adventures and challenges is because they see their fitness as an everyday necessity.
They aim to move their bodies, Walking, riding and weight training (In PT we focus on strength basics to keep their bodies strong and minds healthy) and they are incredibly consistent with this on a weekly basis.
(I always say consistency, over time, is always the magic ingredient to gaining fitness and strength!)

It was only 1 day after they got back from their ride that they were straight back to their PT session, where I thought we'd keep it a little gentler....but they had other ideas and got straight back into it with ease! 🤭💕 They will always give it everything they have!

If you know them, this probably wouldn't suprise you 🤣

I'm so proud and in awe of what they can do and I can not wait to see what their next adventure may be!!!!

Here's a few things that I love and I am so grateful for when it comes to taking Mumma's through their postnatal sessions:

1. I get to cuddle and chat to little humans like my mate Eddie 🥰 (look at him! How could this not be my favourite part? 🫢💕)

2. I know that the little humans' beautiful mummas have a safe space, with no pressure, as they take their time getting their confidence back with training.

3. I know that I can make sure they take the time to do things safely and make sure their form is correct and everything feels OK.

4. I'm able to help them feel mentally and physically stronger.

5. I witness them get more confident ( in both fitness and who they are 🥹✨️)

6. I get to play a part in trying to flick the switch on the dialogue that we need to 'bounce back' after having babies!
The way I see it... you've upleveled in magical unicorn status... there is no need to 'go back'. We want to focus on moving forward! Stronger, wiser, and a lot kinder on our bodies and minds than we ever have been before.
Trust me, It can be amazing where that takes you in time with consistency.

7. Knowing mummas leave their sessions feeling proud of their progress and for taking time for their health 💕 It's not always easy to get there, but they always leave with a much brighter energy and a smile on their face✨️

People ask why they should do postnatal PT and not just join back up to fitness classes, etc?

Well, quite simply: A postnatal trained PT will take time to take into consideration your pregnancy and birth when you are ready to get back into exercise. This really is so important. Most of the time, you'll progress back to your 'normal' level of fitness before you know it, but implementing a priority on safety for your body before you start throwing weights around, will only benefit you further down the track! 💕

I can't describe how special it is knowing what we do and the safe space, that's so important to me to make sure I provide, has such a positive effect on people's physical and mental health 🩷
