LAUNCESTON GAELS 2026 AGM 🔴⚪️

Our AGM for this year is being held at Mud Bar on Sunday 31st May at 6:00PM.

We will be reflecting on last season, electing this years committee and planning for the year ahead. Everyone is more than welcome to attend and be involved - no experience required.

We officially wrap up season 25/26 this Friday night with an awards night 💥💥💥

We want to take the time to thank some of our amazing local Launie Businesses that have generously donated some prizes towards our raffle that will be drawn on the night 🥳🥳🥳

A massive thankyou to The Star Theatre, Launceston !! Go check our their Launie business for an amazing night out at the cinema 🎥🎞️🍿

And to The Racquet Collective, a big thankyou to these guys!! We love seeing new venues open up in Launie, they are doing great things! Be sure to check out they brand new padel and pickleball courts 🎾🏓🏅

Kicking off today with the annual Martín Mac Mathúna Cup in Hobart ☘️🏆

Followed by our first ever Bunnings Sausage Sizzle in Invermay 🌭🤠

If you are around Hobart today stop in to Rugby Park to catch some of the action, otherwise come see us tomorrow for a sausage and a chat! 🙌🕺

On Saturday we wrapped up the final round of the inaugural Buck Eejit Games Tasmanian State League ☘️

With our women’s team winning 2/3 games that were played, a disappointing forfeit in round 1 meant that Hobart took the first win. In the men’s competition, we came back and won the final 2 rounds of the competition meaning we finished on Saturday 2-2 in both competitions. With the initial 5 round series changing to 4 games in December, this meant the final decision came down to score difference.

A big congratulations to Hobart who took both trophy’s on Saturday. It was a huge success for the inaugural Tasmanian State League with all games played competitively and in great spirit 🏆

As our first official year as a club, we mark this as a great success, and are so excited for what the future holds for Launie Gaels 🔴⚪️

A big thank-you to Niamh and Domhnall from Hobart for capturing these photos and for all involved behind the scenes for making the league happen 🏐🏐

We look forward to heading back down to Hobart again next month for the annual Martín Mac Mathúna cup that’s being played on the 14th March ☘️🏆⏰

This weekend marks the final round of the inaugural Buck Eejit Games State League!

This is it.

With December’s round cancelled, Saturday now decides the 2025/2026 Tasmanian State League champions.

Hobart Harps lead 2–1 in both the Men’s and Ladies' tournaments.
A Harps win seals the title.
A Launceston Gaels win sends it to scoring difference.

It doesn’t get tighter than that.

11:30am – Men's
12:15pm – Ladies
1:00pm – Mixed Social

Free admission and all are welcome to come along.

Hobart will field four teams, with teams also travelling from Launceston Gaels. A day of Gaelic football, community and St Patrick’s weekend celebrations, with the craic continuing afterwards at the New Sydney Hotel.
