Before 9:30am today we had trouble getting the fryers started, couldn’t get our eftpos properly connected and had to assist with an ambulance for an opposition player.
Just another day at the footy.
Yesterday we had our food van at VFL/W. Today a full compliment of junior games at Invermay Park and 4 games at UTas. Huge weekend.
I didn’t post any of the scores today. Not because we didn’t win any of them against a quality outfit in South Launceston but because sometimes you have to pause and remember that we are rebuilding culture and structure which is beyond the scoreline.
Alan played again to mentor our young blokes. Something which was not necessarily contemplated at his appointment.
Jacob did as he always does, in his 50th senior game, gave his heart and soul.
We played our 18th debutant for the year. They are now part of our family.
Your volunteer committee gave their all across the weekend. I thank them for their commitment.
The redevelopment of the stadium is testing our resilience. The turnover of the list testing our resolve.
I wouldn’t have it any other way. Adversity breeds character. Now more than ever we must stay the path and continue to stay together. The spirit across all our teams remains amazing.
We still have tickets to the Dane Swan function and to the Harley raffle.
We still have plenty of opportunity to join our amazing group of volunteers.
Deloraine at home next weekend. At home with Dane Swan versus Launceston the weekend after. Come and celebrate the efforts that all our players across the club are putting in.
We have a lot of work to do. We must do it together.
