While it was a tough day for Blueys on Saturday, Will Riik can walk away from Round 7 with his head held high as our Sydney Polishing Co Player of the Week.

In a coming of age performance, Second’s silent assassin made every moment count and while his boys couldn’t get it done, it may have been Will’s best game yet.

In attack the young flanker led with strong, aggressive carries and lightning footwork at the line. In defence he tackled everything in reach and hit more rucks than humanely possible.

Will continues to elevate his game and is credited by his coaches with taking perfectly to their new structure while exceeding with his individual tasks each game.

Congrats the Club’s favourite Riik and the rest of the boys edging closer the 2026 Presidents Cup.

Predictably tough one against Waves but another brilliant Multicultural Day nonetheless! Thank you to everyone who contributed and Waverley Rugby Club for the buy in 🙌

Fifths and Fourths were simply outclassed while Thirds, Seconds and Firsts were on the losing end of 3 great, tough games.

Colts were our shining light, making it 3 wins on the trot and our most successful start to a Barbour Cup season ever. An incredible testament to the talent of our young men and the leadership of Coaches Elijah and Raams, especially considering the lack of rugby exposure in our area. A great sign of things to come!

Huge day tomorrow!

Nothing controversial about Waves bringing the eno but will this be Bailey Tebbutt’s defining moment in his debut Club Captain year??

Pete, backed by the good people at The Vanity Project, thinks yes 👍

On our return from a fortnight off there were plenty of candidates for the Sydney Polishing Co Player of the Week but none better than Jackson Bagatella in Colts’ gritty Round 6 win.

Another Mountains leaguie/touch player thats excelled in his first season of code, Jackson was pivotal to his side’s last minute victory against the Dirty Reds.

With an exceptional work rate that regularly includes coming off his wing to look for work, Jackson was at his busy best on the weekend - tackling everything, scoring a solo try and making a great line break that gave the boys the momentum to score the match winner only a play later.

Credited by his coaches as able to play anywhere in the backfield, Jackson flexed that versatility on Saturday by jumping in at fly-half when the boys went a man down and laying on a try-assist in that time.

A new guy that’s quickly grown comfortable with the game, it doesn’t take long watching to see the boys love playing with him and Elijah and Raams love coaching him.

Good stuff Jackson and the rest of Round 6’s Best and Fairest!
