After the boys match against Josho Keikou Kakuen High School. They met their opposition at their post match function. Where they shared foods, laughs and slang between one another. Then headed to catch the plane the night after.
As we reflect on our Japan tour, we look back on a packed and rewarding schedule that took us through Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. From arrival, the boys settled in quickly, completing multiple training sessions, visiting Japanese high schools, and competing in a series of well-organised matches against strong local opposition.
The tour included fixtures against schools such as Tokai University Sagami High School, Konkou Touin High School and Josho Keiko Gakuen High School, with the boys producing composed performances and executing their rugby at a high level throughout the week. Training sessions at quality facilities, recovery and preparation routines, and post-match functions all contributed to a professional touring environment.
Off the field, the group experienced key cultural locations including Shibuya, Asakusa, Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Shrine, Gion, Osaka Castle and local markets, giving the boys a genuine insight into Japanese culture alongside their rugby commitments.
Overall, the tour ran smoothly from start to finish and the boys handled the demands of travel, training, matches and sightseeing extremely well. A well-executed tour that delivered valuable match experience, cultural exposure and lasting memories.
