On Saturday 6th March, Lisa and myself attended the Under 18 Girls rep game at Ripcity, as we also have a strong interest with that club.
The girls took on Toowoomba, who were a much larger side, but our girls prevailed by a significant margin.
This group are on top of their division and look like staying there, as the season ends this weekend.
They are hoping for a home final the following week.
As befits a group that have been near the top all season, they are a lively, busy side with high percentage goal converters and swift, aggressive ball carriers.
I look forward to seeing that final.
Go Ripcity!

Jumper presentation last Saturday evening... to me!!!!!
It's a long time since I was presented with a sports jumper such as this one. Of course, this one is a basketball singlet of the modern kind and was given to the clinic as a result of an interest that we took in the Phoenix Under 18 Girls Rep side this year. many of these young ladies attend our clinic when they have sports injuries.
They are a side with many top players and in last week's clash with Pirates, only conceded the game in the last few moments and lost by 4 points.
Thank you team for your thoughtfulness in this instance, we appreciate the gesture and enjoyed the fun Photo session.
A big shout out to Wendy and Christine, the very capable and thoughtful team officials, for this presentation

The team from left to right: Ava Nason, Chelsea Smith, Millie Willox, Kiva Hunter Misky (ACL injury and sorely missed), Mackenzie Woollett, Chloe Davis, Sally Blake, Jess Fell, Lily Sowden and Tia Lazare. ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

The age old MYTH: you need hard or painful pressure to โ€œreleaseโ€ tissue! ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
A change in tissue tension is granted by the nervous system. The nervous system is not deaf - no need to shout at it.

First walk at Mooloolaba beach since pre covid. It's still just as sensational as ever.
In the past 2 weeks we have been seeing adolescent elite and sub elite athletes and sports people, as sports begin to ramp up prior to June 12th in QLD. (Whooppppeeeeee!!!)
The common theme in each of the athletes as they were undergoing a preparatory body balance prior to beginning training again was, unsurprisingly, very tight hip flexors!
Clients will remember the Jaw Dropping Psoas reset that we go on about before each season starts.
Adolescent lifestyle during the lock-down would, I guess, involve much sitting around looking at various devices. Two things here,,,,1. text neck looking too much at mobile: 2 Too much hip flexion and not enough Lunges!!
On the face of these observations it would seem like a good idea to bring your athlete in and be tested for postural issues that have arisen since March.
The hip flexors, hamstrings and Erector spinae groups are all very important to maximize athletic performance and training output.
And we all know that coaches will expect maximum training output right from the get go!!
So, get going: call Tom on 0503 709 002, or visit www.stayinthegame.com.au for further information.
