🌧 Course Update

Due to the recent wet weather, the course is currently very soft underfoot.

⚠️ UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, THERE WILL BE NO GOLF CARTS ON THE COURSE.

We know this isn’t ideal, especially with events on, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while the course gets a chance to recover. 🙏

If you’re heading out to play, please take care, tread lightly, and help us look after the course, it’ll bounce back brilliantly with a little TLC. 💚⛳

⛳ Lancefield Golf Club — Fortnightly Update 🐯

Apologies for the missing newsletter last week — we are back with a bumper two week wrap up!

The course is continuing to dry out and is looking fabulous overall, with the greens running true and fast. There are still some damp patches in places but we are getting there and the outlook is improving.

🆕 EXCITING NEWS — NEW SPONSOR SIGNS HAVE ARRIVED!

Our brand new sponsor signs are here and they look absolutely sensational — so professional and such a wonderful addition to the course. They will be installed later this week, weather permitting, and we cannot wait to see them out there. We still have 3 holes available for sponsorship — if you know anyone interested please get in touch!

🔨 WORKING BEE SUCCESS

A huge thank you to our 10 volunteers who came out last Sunday and got stuck into the carpark area and behind the 13th. An incredible amount was achieved in just 3 hours. The next working bee is Sunday 30 August, 9am to 12pm — all help welcome, chat to Carole Mee for details.

After what feels like weeks of battling the weather, it's great to finally be getting some golf back on the course! The fairways are still a little damp in places and visitor carts remain off limits for now, but we are getting there — and the forecast is looking much more promising ahead. Fingers crossed for some good drying conditions this week!

⛳ Course Update — Lancefield Golf Club
The course will be closed for public play this Saturday 4th July due to the amount of water still sitting around.
We'll review conditions again before Sunday — hopefully things dry out and we're back in better shape next week.

⛳ Weather Update — Lancefield Golf Club
Due to the excessive rainfall and current state of the course, this Saturday's Monthly Medal has been postponed by a week.
If conditions allow, golf may still be possible this Saturday — but no carts will be permitted, especially if the rain continues. Please check conditions before heading out.
We also have a tree down between the 6th green and 7th Ladies tee — being assessed, more info to come.
🚧 Sunday's working bee has also been postponed and will be rescheduled to late July, weather permitting. We'll confirm the date soon.

⛳ Update from Lancefield Golf Club 🐯

We have a big one this week members — a course closure update, a moment that will go down in club history, and a wrap up of a fantastic Winter 1000. Read on!

🚫 COURSE CURRENTLY CLOSED

Due to the significant rainfall we have received, the course is currently closed. We will notify members as soon as it is able to reopen — at this stage it may open later in the week for walkers only. With another 12mm forecast for Wednesday and similar on Thursday, please hold off heading out until you hear from us. We will post updates here on Facebook and via our weekly newsletter as soon as we have news.

🕳️ HOLE IN ONE — CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS ENRIGHT!

In what has to be one of the best stories Lancefield Golf Club has seen in a long time, our Club President Chris Enright made his first ever hole in one this week — on the 5th — in fog so thick you could barely see the flag!

Fellow members searched the rough, the fringe and the fairway before someone thought to check the hole. There it was. Chris had done it — and in conditions where he couldn't even see it go in!

A massive congratulations Chris from everyone at Lancefield Golf Club. What an absolute moment! 🎉⛳

🏆 WINTER 1000 — WHAT A DAY!

Last Sunday's Winter 1000 was an enormous success — 62 players across 16 teams, a beautiful day on the course, and incredible feedback from everyone involved.

🌫️ A hole-in-one you almost couldn't see!

Conditions at Lancefield Golf Club this morning were… let's say atmospheric. With fog so thick you could barely make out the flag on the 5th green, our Club President Chris Enright stepped up and produced a moment for the ages — one that almost went completely unwitnessed.

Fellow members dutifully fanned out across the fairway searching for the ball. Checked the rough. Checked the fringe. Peered into the mist. It wasn't until someone thought to look in the hole that the mystery was gloriously solved.

Chris had made his first ever hole-in-one at his home club. 🎉
The fog may have hidden the shot, but it can't hide the glory. From everyone at LGC — a massive congratulations to our President on an absolutely brilliant ace. The drinks are on you, Chris! 🥂⛳
