IT’S GAME DAY…
The mighty Tigers are playing at home today so come up and catch up with friends because there is plenty of action on today.
Half time Footy Slingshot! Have a free shot for a $100 at half time. Fire the slingshot to land the miniature footy in the bucket. First one to get it in takes $100 of mo one gets it it jackpots to next game.
Seniors starts at 2:15. The young Tigers are chasing their first win after some promising performances recently. They take on the might of Melton South who claimed a big scalp last week.
Reserves starts at 12:16. Big game for Lanny. The Tiges sit one game out of the finals so this is a must win for the boys. Get behind them.
A Grade netball @ 1:45. Our girls have wine 5 of 6 and are in a hot battle for the top of the ladder with 4 teams equal top. Captain Shanae Brundell sits 2nd on the league goal shooting table will look to claw back the margin.
B Grade @ 12:20. The Tigers are 1 game off top of the ladder with Tarnee Hammond looking to extend a big lead in the league goal shooting table.
Women’s Footy. The Tigers are flying and take on the biggest job in footy against Macedon who haven’t been beaten for nearly 2 years but our girls will never give up. Unfortunately they play away today. Get behind them at Macedon from 5:00 tonight.

IT’S THEIR BIRTHDAY…
It’s Farmers Market Day, but this one is a little bit special. The Community Bank Lancefield have had a profound impact on our town and today they are celebrating their 25th birthday. Come down to their marquee at the market and say Happy Birthday!

While you’re there fill in a form to collect a token and put the token in the container for the community group you want to support. The group that gets the most community votes for will get a $2,500 grant for their project. We’d love you to vote for Lancefield FNC and our historic Hall of Fame project but there are so many great volunteer run groups in Lancefield to choose from (that also need more volunteers!) Who are you going to vote for? Voting closes (and cake starts) at noon with the winner announced at 12:30.

The footy’s on tonight at Lancefield with the Tigers taking on the Riddell Bombers in the women’s footy. It’s last years Preliminary Finalists locking horns again under lights so come and make a night of it! Julia will be serving up some gourmet treats to make your Friday night, we’ve got:

•Chilli Con Carne,
•Steamed Pork Buns,
•Chicken Tender Wraps
•Plus the usual Dimmy’s and Hot Dogs!

Top that off with our big range available from behind the bar and of course nothing says country footy like having the fire pits on the go, don’t forget it’s free entry too! These are always great community catch up nights so get down to Lancefield Park. Bar and canteen open from 6:30, game starts at 7:00. 🐯

HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY Community Bank Lancefield and Romsey
Anyone who remembers what Lancefield was like 25 years ago when the big banks left town will remember what a ghost town it was compared to the vibrant village it is now. The Community Bank Lancefield has been one of the major catalysts for our community’s resurgence and on Saturday at the farmers market we get the chance to celebrate their 25th birthday with them!
Come down to their marquee at the market where they will have stories, cake and cookies and, for all our community groups, there is the chance for YOU to decide where their $2,500 birthday donation goes.

Grant funding will help the Lancefield Football Netball Club create a permanent Hall of Fame display featuring story panels, portraits and full-length banners honouring the greatest players to represent our club across 153 proud years. This display will celebrate the history, achievements and legacy of our soon-to-be inducted Hall of Fame members for generations to come.

All you have to do is grab a piece of birthday cake (that bit is optional), fill out a form, get a token and then put your token in the container for the group you want you vote to go to. There are lots of other wonderful community groups participating as well. Come down to the market, celebrate the Community Bank Lancefield’s 25th birthday and meet the people behind the groups that put the Lancefield in to Lancefield.

HALL OF FAME…
For generations, the Lancefield Football Netball Club has been home to some of the finest players our great Australian game has seen, VFL premiership players, VFA leading goalkickers, League Best & Fairest’s, premiership players and more.

To recognise the achievements of these players the Lancefield Football Netball Club is proud to announce that we are establishing the Lancefield Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame will honour and celebrate the greatest players to ever wear the yellow and black over 153 years, individuals whose achievements, character and contribution to the club deserve to have a light shone on them and be remembered for generations to come.

To mark this historic occasion, the club will host an official Hall of Fame Inaugural Inductees night later this year, a gala evening celebrating the stories, achievements and legends that built the Lancefield Football Netball Club into what it is today.

More details, including selection committees, dates and ticketing information will be announced in the coming weeks. 🖤💛

FRIDAY NIGHT GAME 🏉🐯🖤💛
The men’s footy and the netball have got the bye this week but you can still get your local footy fix with the women’s footy under lights on Friday night. Julia has ramped it up big time in the canteen and she’ll be serving up Chilli Con Carne, Steamed Pork Buns, Chicken Tender Wraps along with the usual Dimmy’s and Hot Dogs! The bar will be open and the fire pit roaring so grab a friend and spend your Friday night with the Lancefield girls! Game starts at 7pm, canteen and bar from 6:30pm. 💛

THE $5,000 CHOOK…
Thanks so much to everyone who bought a chook in Australia’s Biggest Chook Raffle, it’s support like yours that keeps the doors open on our club. As the chooks fell from the crane high up in the sky it was number 371 that landed closest to the pin. The winning chook owner was Bec Ager who happened to be standing right at the gate as they dropped, ready to run onto the field for the women’s football match that was just about to start - talk about a distraction! Congratulations Bec and thanks again to everyone who backed us in by buying a chook and to PC Cranes & Equipment who did a great job sending the chooks so far up into the sky!
