Hi
Not sure if you are aware that I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a couple of years ago.
The survival stats aren't great. While I am having a break between treatments I have decided to try to raise awareness about the existence of ovarian cancer and to raise some money for research to help find treatments for women with ovarian cancer.
I have completed my 42 day 'marathons 4 cancer' challenge and am now going to try do a 21km indoor row this Tuesday to raise more awareness and money.

Our very own Lyn , President Hockey Blacktown is raising funds to help women like her.

In 2022 Lyn received a stage 4 Ovarian Cancer diagnosis and is seeking to make a difference by bringing awareness to ovarian cancer through her initiative, Marathons 4 Cancer.

On 8 May - World Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day - Lyn embarked on a remarkable journey of physical activity, aiming to complete 42 consecutive days of exercise at Stanhope Leisure Centre to raise funds towards research on Ovarian Cancer.

Late post: We had a fantastic presentation morning on 16 September where we celebrated a successful 2023 hockey season, our club champions and awarded all our hockey players with their much deserved medallions and certificates. Congratulations to you all!! 🏑🥅
Our raffle ticket fundraiser draw also had many awesome prizes and we hope all winners have enjoyed their winnings! 🎟️
The annual tug of war was also something that everyone thoroughly enjoyed 🪢 well done everyone!!
A big shout out and sincere thank you however goes out to all our players, supporting families, coaches, site managers, volunteers, sponsors and committee members. It wouldn’t have been a successful hockey season without your help , support and dedication so we thank each and every one of you and hope to see you all in 2024.

Free Accredited CPR Training in Blacktown

When: Tuesday 26 September 2023

This training session teaches you how to recognise a cardiac arrest, how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants, as well as how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and includes hands-on practice on a mannequin .

Congratulations to the 2023 Club Champions: Lalor Park Blue Tounges (White) 10-14s age group for winning the grand finals today! What a fantastic accomplishment for the whole team 🏑🥇and well done to the opposing team Seven Hills Scorpions as runners up.

Outstanding efforts to Ivy and Maddie for also being selected as the the Grand Final Players of the Match (10-14s) with both receiving a special award. Well done girls ⭐️
