🏃♂️ Week 4 Cross Country Wrap-Up & Major Announcement! 🏃♀️
What a fantastic turnout for Week 4! The weather absolutely turned it on for us, providing the perfect backdrop to wrap up National Volunteer Week - and boy, did we end it on a high note!
💥 Mind-Blown! A Huge Thank You to Our New Major Sponsor 💥
We are always blown away by the astounding acts of kindness within our community, but the Lakes Entrance Volunteer Craft Club completely knocked us off our feet this morning!
They attended our meet today and presented our club with an incredibly generous, unexpected donation that will go directly towards purchasing new hurdles for our next Little Athletics track season. It is beautiful to see volunteer groups supporting other volunteer groups to keep our kids active. Please join us in giving them a massive thank you! 🎨❤️
🌟 Leadership in Action
A massive shout-out to our senior athletes - Zoe, Ace, and Rylie. Mid-race, these absolute superstars stopped to support and encourage one of our junior members, Owen. This is exactly what our club is about—sportsmanship, leadership, and looking out for one another. We could not be prouder of you three! There is a little sneak peak of their comradery in this week's meet video ❤️
🧡 Thank You to Our Volunteers
Community events simply don't happen without unpaid volunteers giving up their time. If you know a local volunteer, please take a moment to thank them for everything they do for community sports and events of all kinds.
This week, we have another huge thank you for Annmarie and Adrian Darcy. Not only do they provide continuous support during our XC meets, but they also treated the kids to generous donations of milkshakes and lollies at the finish line today! You both are legends.
🙌 To Our Amazing Families & Athletes
Thank you to every single family and athlete for showing up each week and giving it your all. We absolutely love watching the growth, grit, and determination from each and every one of you. Keep shining!
📅 Upcoming Calendar Reminders (No Meets for the next 2 weeks)
Please note that there will be NO cross country meets on:
Saturday 30th May (State Relay)
Saturday 6th June (King's Birthday Long Weekend)
🌳 The "Keep Moving" Challenge: Family Parkrun!
Just because we aren't meeting at the track doesn't mean we stop moving! We highly encourage all of our families to head down to the local Parkrun over the next two weekends.
It is completely free to register and participate. You can attempt one lap (2.5km) as a family or tackle the full 5km together. It’s a fantastic way to keep up your fitness, support another great community event, and have some fun together.
👉 What to do: Just jump online to register, print out your barcode, and turn up on Saturday morning ready to walk, jog, or run! https://www.parkrun.com.au/register/
See you all back for our next official meet soon! Have a safe long weekend and good luck to everyone competing in the upcoming State Relays! 🏆
