Macquarie Football - July School Holiday Clinic

Registrations are now open for our July School Holiday Clinic!

Dates: Monday July 13 to Thursday July 16
Ages: 5-12 Years
Venue: Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility
Clinic runs from 9:00am - 12:00pm on each day

You can book for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days or all 4 days if you like. Those doing 2 or more days will receive a football to keep, and we will also have a BBQ lunch after the final session on Thursday!

Please note: Players taking part should be registered with their club for the 2026 Community Football season!

A big thank you to Adamstown Rosebud PYL and JDL Girls for some competitive practice matches with several of our Macquarie Football Community State Championships groups this week!

There was some decent football on display and our coaching staff and players were very grateful for the opportunity to test out some combinations and develop some team chemistry! 🤝🔵⚽️👍

Happy Mother’s Day to our incredible Macquarie Football mums!
Today we celebrate the women who cheer the loudest, give the best hugs, juggle the busiest schedules, and show what strength, passion and community truly look like on and off the field. To every mum who plays, coaches, volunteers, or supports from the sidelines thank you for everything you bring to our game. Wishing you a fantastic day filled with love, joy and maybe even a goal or two.

VALE CHRIS TURNER

Macquarie Football is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Chris Turner this week.

A hugely influential and passionate football advocate at a local level, Chris was somebody who gave a voice and platform to so many people in the football family. He spent much of his recent years as the face of Bar TV, brilliantly covering the NNSW NPL, as well as the Zone Football League competitions.

In his earlier years, he was a proud contributor as a player and coach at both the West Wallsend and Lake Macquarie clubs (among others), where he still had long-lasting friendships and could often be found watching and covering games. He was greatly revered and respected at all football clubs, because he shone a light on all the great things happening every week in our beautiful game - at all levels.

Today, he rests with his dearly missed son Charlie, who was tragically taken way too soon in early 2025.

Wherever you are watching football this weekend, raise a glass and take a moment to remember Chris and the efforts that he made to take our game forwards.

All of our love and support goes to the Turner family and all those who knew Chris down the years. He will always be so fondly remembered! ⚽️❤️🙏

⚽⚽ Game Leader Course ⚽⚽
Garden Suburb Football Club last night held our final Game Leader Course for the 2026 season. It was a fantastic evening with another outstanding turnout.

Across all courses so far more than 300 participants have successfully completed their training and are now qualified to take on Game Leader roles within their local clubs an excellent achievement for everyone involved.

A massive thank you to Brad Carlin from Northern NSW Football for delivering the course and supporting our participants throughout the program. We also extend our appreciation to Garden Suburb Football Club for hosting this session.

We wish all Game Leaders the very best for the season ahead and look forward to seeing you out on the fields.

2026 COMMUNITY STATE YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS SQUADS

A big congratulations to all of those players selected to represent Macquarie Football at the 2026 Community State Youth Championships! The tournament is set to run from July 6-10 at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, with Member Zones going head to head and showcasing the best of Community Football in Northern NSW.

Macquarie Football Technical Director Alex Lowe had this to say:
"Congratulations to all those who were selected to represent our Zone in July, and a big thank you to all who tried out and gave our coaching staff much to think about. A big thank you to our coaches as well for their efforts up to this point with the trial period".

"There was loads of talent on display and I am very excited to see everyone play in July at the tournament. I'm really proud of the fact that we have 17 different Macquarie Football Community Clubs represented here, which gives a great cross-section of our area overall. Let's prepare well, listen to our coaches and go show everyone what we can do in July!" 🔵⚽🏆⚽🔵
