{PART 1- written a week ago} “Parenting is so hard”. I’m sure you’ve heard that before, because. it. is. But lately I’ve really let my mind run away with it. I’ve really been letting my negative thoughts run wild. And as a believer in the law of attraction- what I’ve been affirming to myself has become my reality. Sam receives messages from me most days while he’s at work, usually giving a play by play of everything that has gone wrong, how little Tallis has been sleeping and me basically sharing all of my frustrations and emotions with parenting. “He’s never happy” “this is just my life now” “I hate it” “I can’t win” “Doing anything is a struggle”. Listening back to myself; I’m in full fledged victim mentality. I’m manifesting more of what I don’t want. Having this kind of mindset can give you tunnel vision to see the bad and only the bad. It can also make the bad worst because that’s where your focus is. And I’m sure Tallis is picking up on my energy too. I’m not saying to not share your feelings- but ultimately it’s our responsibility how we perceive and deal with situations. I’ve been feeling ‘in the thick of it’ and lost sight of all the good. So today I have decided to write a new parenting story- not a borrowed one that doesn’t serve me. One that I will read everyday. I will send less negative messages to Sam describing every detail of how hard my day is. I will start focusing on all the good things about parenting again. If you are not happy with your life, it’s up to you to change it.

There are so many things you can do- I meditate, exercise, eat well, make sleep a priority, use essential oils and so many other things that all contribute to being a less stressed out person. Besides all the scientific evidence on Essential Oils and how they can help lift your mood and change your state- the evidence for me is the way they’ve helped me strengthen my self awareness- thus empowering me to change my state. When I see my little bottles of goodness in front of me- I automatically become present and ask myself “how am I feeling” or “what do I need today”. This practice has helped me become aware of my body, my feelings, and what my soul is yearning for. Do I need a little bit of motivation? grounding? peace? rest? elevation? soothing? digestive support? Detoxing? Joy? Forgiveness? Whatever it is “There is an oil for that”. I then take a whiff, diffuse, dilute, lather or roll on to me. Being aware of how you feel- gives you the power to change your state to the way you want to feel ❤
