Yet another stunning day on the trout stocking trail. 🐟⛰️ Today our technical officers covered plenty of kilometres across Victoria, travelling from Snobs Creek to the Grampians, and all the way to Gippsland, to stock another 17,810 bonus rainbow trout.

Leading today’s stockings was the picturesque Lake Fyans, nestled at the foot of the Grampians between Stawell and Halls Gap. Known for its scenic mountain backdrop, shoreline access and big brown trout, feisty rainbows and plentiful redfin, Lake Fyans is one of western Victoria’s favourite freshwater fishing destinations.👌Thanks to Ian (pictured) for lending a hand today!

Blue Rock Lake in west Gippsland received more of its bonus trout too, bringing its total to 28,070 out of the extra 35,000 so far. More to come!

Today’s trout summary:
🐟 Lake Fyans — 3,910
🐟 Blue Rock Lake — 13,900

Whether you’re planning a winter camping trip, or just looking for somewhere beautiful to wet a line, both waters offer fantastic fishing opportunities right now.

Run at Rocklands
The weather was not in our favour on the Saturday afternoon through until early hours Sunday morning, broken gazebos, leaking tents and wet beds. We all still had a great weekend, lots of laughs around the campfire, and even some cooking lessons lol, oh even pelican feeding 🐟
Little Boomer the dog kept some of us amused most of the weekend. I think they need to put the little foxy breed up in the list of dogs with highest intelligence. Boomer is a dog with high energy and such intense focus.
A lot of carp and little redfin caught, I have never seen so many fingling sized redfin as there are in that lake.
Our angler Waxy (Paul Whelan) come first, he caught a couple of nice sized yellas and won the longest fish.
Well don’t Waxy 👍 🎣 🚤
