The home-and-away season is behind us and now it's time for **FINALS FOOTBALL!** 🦟🔥

What a season it has already been for the Northern Warlpiri Mozzies, but we're not finished yet!

This weekend our **Women's and Men's A Grade Teams both take on the Camels** in two massive finals.

For our women, it's simple – **WIN AND WE PLAY AGAIN NEXT WEEK!**

What an incredible achievement just to be here.

In their **first-ever season**, our women have made history, won games, earned the respect of the competition and secured their place in the Top 4.

Now it's time for their first taste of **BRFL Finals Football!**

Ladies, the entire club and Lajamanu community is already proud of you. Take the field with confidence, play for each other, play with that toughness and Mozzie spirit you've shown all year and give it everything you've got.

🖤❤️💛 **FINALS BOUND – WHAT A SEASON SO FAR, MOZZIES!** 💛❤️🖤

The home-and-away season is done, and what a journey it has been for the **Northern Warlpiri Mozzies Football Club!** 🦟🔥

Our A Grade Men turned up Saturday ready to finish the season strongly, but unfortunately the Bombers were unable to field a team, meaning the Mozzies were awarded the win by forfeit.

Now our attention turns to something much bigger…

What an achievement and what a season so far!

This year has been about more than wins and losses. It has been about building a football club Lajamanu can be proud of – community, culture, family and giving our players the opportunity to proudly wear the **black, red and yellow**.

A massive shout-out to our **A Grade Men**, who have played some incredible football and shown that our strong community style can compete with anyone.

And to our **Women's Team** – in your **FIRST EVER SEASON**, you have made history again and again. Your first game, first win, first carnival, first game under lights and now your **first finals campaign!** You have shown courage, toughness and pride in the jumper all season.

Our **B Grade** has also made history in its first season, bringing together older players who still love pulling on the jumper and young up-and-coming footballers getting their opportunity – and now they're playing finals too!

To our coaches, support staff, committee, volunteers, families, sponsors and everyone who has travelled kilometre after kilometre to support us – **THANK YOU!**

And to our players – thank you for representing **Lajamanu and the Mozzies with pride.**

Absolutely — with the Women and B Grade already looking towards finals, we can put the focus on the A Grade boys securing second spot.

It's another big weekend for the Northern Warlpiri Mozzies as we reach the end of the home-and-away season and turn our attention towards **FINALS FOOTBALL!** 🦟🔥

🏉 **WOMEN'S TEAM**

Our Women's Team has been awarded the win this weekend by forfeit against the Saints, meaning the girls can now rest up, recover and prepare for the **first week of finals**.

What an incredible achievement in their first season! The girls have earned their place in the Top 4 and now get the opportunity to represent the Mozzies in finals football.

Rest up ladies – the real stuff is about to begin! 🔥

🏉 **MEN'S B GRADE**

Our B Grade boys have the bye this weekend and will also be putting their feet up before turning their attention to the **Preliminary Final**.

For our first season fielding a B Grade side, making it this far is something the whole club should be proud of. A great mix of experienced players and young up-and-coming Mozzies will now get their chance to play finals footy!

Our Senior Men still have some unfinished business!

The boys take on the **Garrak Bombers** in the final home-and-away game with **2nd spot on the ladder on the line**.

A win will secure second spot heading into the finals, so there is plenty to play for.

🖤❤️💛 **WHAT A WEEKEND OF FOOTY FOR THE MOZZIES!** 💛❤️🖤

What a massive weekend, starting at **Freedom Day Friday night** before the big trip into Katherine on Saturday. 🦟

🏉 **B GRADE / MEMORIAL GAME**

Friday night was everything community footy is about – **Family vs Family, Mob vs Mob**, coming together through football.

Our B Grade took on Gurindji Eagles in a great contest, with Gurindji proving too strong and quick on the night. But our boys never stopped competing and it was a great way to kick off the football at Freedom Day.

And the big news – **OUR B GRADE ARE FINALS BOUND!** 🔥

For a new team mixing older players who still want to proudly wear the Mozzies jumper with young up-and-coming footballers, making finals is a fantastic achievement.

🏉 **WOMEN vs CAMELS**

After the long drive into Katherine, our women took on the Camels with only **14 players and no bench**.

The scoreboard finished 70–7, but it doesn't show the effort these women gave. Every player had to play the entire game with no rotations or rest, but they kept fighting and showed pride in the jumper until the final siren.

And our women have now **LOCKED IN A TOP 4 FINISH AND FINALS IN THEIR FIRST SEASON!** 🔥
What an achievement, ladies!

🏉 A GRADE vs SAINTS

Our Senior Men then took on the Saints with only two on the bench. The boys played their guts out and stayed in the contest before the Saints had too much left in the final quarter, winning 74–43.

Our A Grade has also LOCKED IN TOP 4 AND ARE STILL SITTING 2ND!🔥

Getting teams onto the park after Freedom Day and the long travel wasn't easy, so to every player who turned up, travelled and proudly wore the black, red and yellow – **THANK YOU!**

It's going to be a huge weekend for the Northern Warlpiri Mozzies, with football at **Freedom Day** before we hit the road to Katherine as the race towards the finals heats up! 🦟🔥

🏉 **MEMORIAL GAME – FREEDOM DAY**

The weekend kicks off with the **Memorial Game at Freedom Day**, an important and special game that is about more than just football.

It's an opportunity to come together through footy, remember those who are no longer with us and celebrate community, family and culture.

🏉 **MEN'S B GRADE vs GURINDJI EAGLES**

Our B Grade boys will then take on the Gurindji Eagles.

With our B Grade team still in the hunt for finals, every game matters. The boys will be looking to bring plenty of Mozzie spirit and continue building as a team as we head towards the business end of the season.

Then it's time to hit the road and head to **Katherine** for two massive games!

Our women take on the Camels in another important game as they look to build momentum heading into their **first-ever finals campaign**.

The girls have already achieved so much in their first season and continue to show the league the toughness, pride and determination this team has.

Our Senior Men take on the Katherine River Saints with plenty on the line.

The boys are currently sitting **second on the ladder** and will be looking for another strong performance to hold onto that position heading into finals.

Including this weekend, there are now **just TWO games remaining before finals begin!** 🔥

This is the time of the season when every contest matters, every teammate matters and every voice from the sidelines matters.

From Freedom Day to Katherine, let's get behind **all our Mozzies teams** this weekend.

🖤❤️💛 **PLENTY OF MOZZIE SPIRIT ON SATURDAY!** 💛❤️🖤

It wasn't our day on the scoreboard, but there were still plenty of positives to take away from Saturday's games for the Northern Warlpiri Mozzies. 🦟

🏉 **WOMEN'S TEAM**

Our women started slowly against the competition-leading Crows, who were able to get out to an early lead.

But the girls didn't drop their heads.

In the second half they fought their way back into the contest and showed that trademark **Mozzie spirit**, playing with greater intensity, determination and belief right through to the final siren.

The result didn't go our way, but the girls continue to show how much they have grown during their first season of football.

Importantly, our women are **still sitting inside the Top 4**, so there is plenty to play for as we head towards the business end of the season!

Keep working hard and believing in each other, girls. ❤️💛🖤

🏉 **MEN'S B GRADE**

Our B Grade boys also gave it everything against a strong Jilkminggan Blues side.

The boys competed hard all day, but the speed and running of the younger Jilkminggan team proved a little too much on this occasion.

But there was one moment everyone will be talking about...

**Dione Kelly showing everyone he's STILL GOT IT!** 🔥

Dione pulled down a **head-standing mark for the ages**, giving everyone at Kalano Sports Ground something to remember! What a grab! 🙌

Our B Grade team is still right in the hunt for a spot in the finals, and for a new team made up of experienced players and young up-and-coming Mozzies, there's plenty to be proud of.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported both teams. Win or lose, we stick together and keep building.

Our **Senior Men's Team has the bye** this weekend, so it's a great opportunity for the boys to get behind our other two teams.

Our women face a big challenge against the competition-leading Crows.

The girls know it will be a tough contest, but they have shown throughout their first season that they have the courage and determination to take it up to anyone. It's another opportunity to show how far this team has come, play our brand of football and give it everything until the final siren.

🏉 **MEN'S B GRADE vs JILKMINGGAN BLUES**

Our new B Grade team takes on the competition-leading Jilkminggan Blues in another exciting challenge.

This B Grade team is something we're really proud to have at the Mozzies. It's a great mix of some of our older players who still want the opportunity to proudly pull on the **black, red and yellow Mozzies jumper**, alongside our young up-and-coming footballers getting their first taste of senior men's football.

That's exactly what B Grade is about – giving more people the opportunity to play football while creating a pathway for the next generation of Mozzies.

Both teams are taking on the competition leaders, so let's get behind them! Come out, wear your colours and make plenty of noise from the sidelines at Kalano Sports Ground.

And with our Senior Men having the weekend off, we'd love to see plenty of them there supporting the women and B Grade boys. **One club supporting each other!**
