Tonight some of our senior and U17 netballers were put through a tough Pilates session courtesy of Rach at RIOT Kyabram 💪🏻

RIOT GAMES- EVENT 1 🫡
Our first Event will be two parts. Morning will include your team of 4 splitting into 2 sub teams. Afternoon is all 4 members working together. Choose your players where they will best perform! Both Round 1 and 2 will be performed at the same time at RIOT Gym. Round 3 will be at the Kyabram Pool where we have booked lanes.

ROUND 1: 2x members of your team will work solo to complete the modified Murph workout in the quickest time possible.
ROUND 2: 2x members will work together to complete the exercises and Erg target.
ROUND 3: All 4 team members will work together, the goal is to complete the swimming distance as fast as possible. Until the distance is met, those outside the pool will complete the EMOM. Not all members need to be in the pool. Remember, no one is an Olympic swimmer, you can get your 50m completed by running in the water if you need. Have a go! Families are welcome to come and support at the Pool!

The winning team will be the one with the quickest combined time. Stay tuned for more specific rules. Book via our app and msg us your team!

NOTE: There is a gap between Round 1&2 and Round 3 for several reasons. 1. To allow recovery. 2. Because it’s your Sunday and you probably have jobs to achieve. 3. To let us prepare.

A mix of olympic lifting, bodyweight gymnastics movements, functional strength, high-intensity intervals, barbell skills and recovery, with scaling options for all levels, focusing on overall fitness and strength.

Have a read of what our new DIAL IT IN block offers. Our same balanced training, but with optional add-on's. This is something we have been asked about constantly. As always, if we are going to do it, we will do it properly. We have sourced professionals and worked hard to make this service both worthwhile and great value. If you have been feeling like your nutrition is jeopardising your goals, this is for you.
This nutrition program isn’t a meal plan. It provides the tools and knowledge you need to make informed food choices that align with your goals. Whether that's with a specific calorie goal at level 4, or if your just looking to make some changes to support you goal at level 1, 2 or 3.

Meet Grant, our new CrossFit coach 🏋‍♀️.
Grant is probably familiar to most as he is currently a member of RIOT and recently ran our pop-up Cross Training classes.

Grant comes from a CrossFit background and not only is it his personal preferred training style, but he is a Level 2 CrossFit coach as well as an experienced PT. He loves the variety this style of training provides, being a good balance of strength and conditioning.
When he's not throwing around a barbell, you'll find him outdoors (camping, 4x4, waterski racing, motorbikes.. everything) with his family.

Grant will be running our Cross Training 10 week block as of Monday 12th Jan. The first block will run Monday 6.30pm & Friday 5.30pm.
We are so keen to welcome Grant and learn/ practise some new skills!

HYBRID Fundamentals 10-Week Beginner Block at RIOT Gym! 🤝

WHO:
All ability levels are welcome.
We’re capping it at just 12 people to keep it a supportive and non-intimidating environment. If you've been wanting to try our classes but are new or nervous about group fitness and would like to gain some confidence first, this is for you!

WHEN:
Tues & Thurs 6:30pm-7.10pm for 10 weeks
*Starting as soon as we have enough sign-ups

What it involves:
- Access to the 2 dedicated classes per week, for 10 weeks. These sessions are periodized and designed to help you learn techniques, get comfortable with equipment and improve your fitness. Small classes will allow for more trainer assistance.

- Pre and post program testing woven into the workouts in a friendly, non-intimidating way, so you can see how far you've improved.

COST:
$300 (paid in full) for the entire Entry Hybrid 10-week program. This is a commitment based program with no casual drop in's, we want consistency!

Note: We’ll start as soon as we have enough sign-ups, so lock in your spot with a $50 deposit!

Our 10-week Race Prep Program is designed to build the strength, conditioning, and endurance needed for events like HYROX Melbourne. Whether it’s your first time or you’re chasing a new PB, this program will sharpen you up for race day. This block ends the day of Melbourne HYROX.

📌Saturday 4th Oct
PRE TESTING: Simulation Event
On the 4th of October we’re hosting a Race Simulation at 60% of the HYROX format — a benchmark workout to test your current fitness and kickstart your training. It’s the perfect practice run if you’re heading to HYROX Melbourne later this year.
All participants will complete a 0.6 version of the full course as part of our race prep. To enter, please choose a partner and make sure both of you have registered. You’ll also need to provide your partner’s name and your average predicted 5km run time (straight run, no exercises in between) as a team.

⏰️Why does registration say 3hrs?
Start times will be staggered and will be organised by race category (Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, or Women’s Doubles) and seeded using your combined average 5km pace to keep the event flowing smoothly. You will be given a start time prior to the day.
While the official HYROX competitions allow solo entries, this simulation will be run in a training-only doubles format to ensure the best experience for everyone.

💲As this event requires additional staffing and organisation, to make it viable there will be a cost of $5 for members and $20 for non members. Book via our app!

📢 We’re also excited to announce that for this training block we’re teaming up with local endurance coach Michael Lindeback from Livstil. Michael has created a running program designed to complement our training methods and help you get the best possible results. The program is just $50 per person. Perfect for many of our members who feel comfortable with their weights, but lack confidence or are unsure how to improve in their running. Suitable for all levels of fitness!
Michael will also be at the gym on October 4th to share more details and answer any questions. Register your interest in this program via the sign-up sheet at the gym!

This event is open and encouraged for all members, regardless of whether you plan on competing. It will provide you with a starting point and goal. It's also an opportunity to partner up and have some fun!
