Heat 2 off grid 1 got beaten into first turn then settled in to a strong 2nd place. Held 2nd until the white flag, slowly making up ground on 1st & pulling away from 3rd. Then the car just died & rolled to a stop in turn 1 to bring on the yellow, race called but relegated to last place as didn't cross the finish line. A real shame as car & driver were in sync & going well. Changed a few things & went out between races to try see if it would fire up but alas no luck. Small consultation to find out we would have made the dash in 4th position had we finished the heat in 2nd. Car away in one piece and all in all a good weekend with some real positives in performance.

First heat went from grid 8 to finish 5th. Moving forward which is always a bonus. Got a bit of a wait till our next heat. So some opportunity to get a watch on the track & try get the 7c Value Cars hot rod dialed in for our front row start. 🤞

Wash up & race prep at the more gentlemanly hour of 10am for those of us that didn't fancy the 7am start. Cars good, drivers happy & ready to get on with the Methanol Masters here at Central Motors Speedway in Cromwell.

Down at the Methanol Masters at Central Motor Speedway in Cromwell. We dusted off the original Mr Smooth driver & sent him out to blow off some cobwebs at the legends practice tonight. He went pretty good we reckon, but see what you think in the videos below.

Ruapuna Speedway would like to share that a Give a Little page has been set up to support Kevin Ban and his family.

Kevin was the driver involved in the Sprintcar accident on Saturday, March 8th. He remains in serious but stable condition in the ICU at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland.

Kevin and his family have a long road ahead. Being based in Wellington and Christchurch, they face travel costs to be with him. Kevin is also self-employed, and won’t be able to work for some time. Many of you will know Kevin as the man behind Horsepower Heads. Since its establishment in 2016, his business has supported speedway. His previous business did the same.

All donations go directly to Kevin and his family to cover expenses during his treatment and recovery. Unused donations will be set aside as an emergency fund for future motorsport incident victims. The family is incredibly grateful for the kind words and support they have received during this difficult time.
