Managed to get out for a short play at one of our local tracks on the weekend and were joined by the Pajs younger brother in Dylans SWB Gen 4.
No real damage for the day but lots of fun had by both cars, never enough photos taken when we head out but there will be plenty more trips to come.

I really need to get better at posting on this page but hopefully it will happen now that there is a Play car back in the Ginger Ninja Stable.

Mods have already started but this is what it looked like when purchased.

Was pushed onto the trailer with a fuel issue and less than 24hrs later it drove off under its own power much to the amusement of the locals.

Happy Fathers day to myself and all the other fathers and father figures on the page.

What started as an early morning for the kids with presents, turned into an anything but normal day of racing.

After reassembling the Excel last weekend with the help of Dylan and Ian, and consequentially remembering why I built and loved driving the Excel in the first place, it was loaded on the trailer for the first dry event of the season at South West Touring Car Club Bunbury track.

After a great sighting lap, albeit for the car developing a miss on its way around the track, we were all set for a great day of racing in the sun, something we had all been missing.

Unfortunately, the Excel had other plans for the day. After starting it up for its first run of the day we had no power and it would hardly idle. I quickly parked it up and Dylan generously let me drive his car for the first round while we hoped to be able to figure out what was happening with the Excel before its second run of the day. But it wasnt to be.

After coming back from the first round, we found the engine to be full of milky oil and that was the Excel done for the day.

Thanks to Dylan for letting me race his new car all day, and even managing to beat him overall by 3secs accross the day.

All wasnt lost today, with a present for the Excel being picked up after the days racing had finished, in the form of a shiny new supercharger ready to be added.

The plus side of now having to do a head gasket is that at least we will know what condition everything is in before adding some boost.

Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos today, but a big thanks to Caravan King Mandurah for the tow car to get down and back, as well as all the volunteer officials at Southwest Touring Car Club for putting on another great event as usual!

Now we have 9 weeks to rebuild the Excel and get it ready for the twilight round in Bunbury and then the Summer Autocross Series - WA Car Club at Kwinana Motorplex starting shortly after.

Hey guys,

I have been a bit slow with updates but there has been alot happening in the background since the Excels last outing at Dowerin.

The Ginger Ninjas Excel has been retired and will be up for sale soon if anyone is looking for a cheap, proven, ready to race autocross car.

And welcome to the team the new Ginger Ninjas Elantra, big brother to the excel with a 2L engine swapped in from the original 1.8L and ready to go.

It went out for its first outting at the South West Touring Car Clubs Round 1 of Autocross last month. With road tyres on the front wheels it was no match for the wet and very slippery track and came away with its first battle wound and a fairly dissapointing result - last in class.

Today, we had Round 2 at South West Touring Car Clubs Autocross track in Bunbury and it was a ridiculously wet and slippery day but with one major difference, rally tyres front and back, and what a huge difference it made!

From the first recce lap around the track I could feel it was going to be a good day and that was proven after the first race around the track with me being a clear 10 seconds in front of the next car in my class. Managing to hold my lead throughout the day, even with all the rain and mud, meant I managed to come away with the Elantras first trophy for the cabinet, First in class.

Was a great day out and can't wait to get out and throw some more mud around over the rest of the winter season. But for now, the fun job of cleaning up the mess I made today...

Saturday we made the 3.5hr trek out to Rally Action Driver Training just outside of Dowerin for Round 1 of their Khanacross series for 2021.

After unloading the car we managed 5 runs before the sun went down, all of which were of varying muddiness and difficulty with everyone running fairly decent times. After a break for dinner to let the sun go down, we hit the tracks for another 2 runs in the dark which meant we were almost driving new tracks with everything looking completely different!

Out of 24 drivers on the day we came away with 7th overall, which I was very happy with, and I will definitely make the drive out to Dowerin again for hopefully the rest of the 2021 season.

I will post some videos up over the next day or 2 after I have had a chance to sit and edit them.
But hopefully these ones will keep you coming back.

And now for the fun job of cleaning off all the mud and getting ready for the last round of the Summer Autocross Series - WA Car Club at Perth Motorplex on Wednesday night.

Sorry its been so long between updates guys!
Lots happening and have been waiting to pick up the new decoration for the trophy case šŸ†

I ran the car at Kwinana Motorplex in the Summer Autocross Series' Round 2 on the 9th of December just before Christmas.
The car ran great all night without any issues and managed to get some decent lap times over the night.

A minor incident with a tyre bundle on the 2nd run gave me a nice yellow racing stripe down the side of the car but no major damage.
But my 3rd run out of 4 was the one for the night! It got me the fastest lap time in Novice Class which meant I won the cars first trophy! Unfortunately I only managed to pick it up last week though, which explains the delay in photos and posts on this page.

I managed to get some videos but slowly piecing them together to try and put something half decent up for you to watch.
More updates to come after we ran round 3 on the 20th of January.....

Well thats another awesome night of racing done, with a bit of a difference, sharing the excel between 3 drivers this time instead of all by myself.

Out of a field of 53 drivers, I was driver 12, my friend Dylan was driver 30, and my dad Gavin was driver 40. Being Dylan and Gavin's first time driving a car competitively on a track they both did great and we all managed to keep the car in one piece through the evening.

After stuggling with traction at the last event we stripped the gearbox down as soon as we got home from the first race, welded the diff and put it all back together again. This made a huge difference in how the car handled and drove, but it definitely did its job in helping us get the power to the ground coming out of the corners, and made for some impressive drifting!

After being annoyingly consistent with my times for the first 3 runs, I finally managed to break out of it and drop to a 1min23sec lap, putting me into 2nd in class and 28th overall, which is my fastest yet and now the new benchmark to beat.

With the autocross season at South West Touring Car Club now finished for the year, it's time to look at the summer series held at Kwinana Motorplex on a Wednesday night. The little green excels next outing will be the 9th of December and will be able to put it up against Gavin's new little Red Rocket that is currently being made ready.

Thanks to AJM Hire Co for the great trailer again, Caravan King Mandurah for the help getting the car ready & Falcon Signs & Designs for the stickers on the car still looking like the day they were put on.

Stay tuned and make sure you like and share the page and posts. Remember the next giveaway will be at 200 followers and will be bigger than the last one!

After the first race for Ginger Ninjas Racing being a twilight race we realised 2 things…

Spending the day in the sun without a hat is a bad idea, and not packing a jumper for when the sun goes down is even worse.

So out of our brain fart came the first Ginger Ninjas Racing Merchandise

We are organising Hoodies both, with and without, zips (both adults and kids sizes available), as well as both, wide brimmed hats and caps. See Pictures below for prices.

All are fully embroidered, no screen printing to crack and peel off, and should last for many years to come, you can even put your name on your hoodie!

We need a minimum of 10 of each item (hoodies and hats) to place an order so let me know if you are interested.
We are hoping to place our first (hopefully of many) order early next week (2 week ETA & our next race is in 2 weeks) so get in quick to be a part of the first ever run of Team hoodies and hats!
