Day 1 of Top Gun Regatta! A great turn out for two races in light and shifty breeze. Social night tonight and then ready for more racing tomorrow!

A breezy but fun day on the water for our Club Championships, with 1 race sailed on Sunday before the second had to be abandoned due to wind - but all was well as sailors ended up at the bar sharing stories and enjoying an extra beer with mates

Howdy Cat Wackers.
The Juniors are starting there season on the 19/10 with a welcome to sailing sail fest for juniors and parents alike. It’s a try sailing day so please bring friends and family down to try a great and fun sport. There will be a free bbq on afterwards. More details will come out next Wednesday including start times etc. We are trying to put on the water Open Skiff, Maricat, a laser, a NS 14 and fingers crossed a couple of the seniors in their F18’s/Taipans. We will need a hand to get these ready prior to ppl arriving. The day is both for kids and parents alike. If anyone has any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. Hope to see all the plus extras.

President’s Cup for the final day of racing for the season, the wind finally came in and it was a marathon around the whole bay! Then the AGM and Murray Makin was returned as President for another year. It has been a great season and we look forward to seeing everyone at the presentation on 17 May!

This Sunday KCC hosted the Darren Lowder Memorial Regatta. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny day and nice breeze, with a good turn out of boats to support the important event. There were three great races, followed by a BBQ and a few beers in memory of Daz. As for results:
In first place, Emma Rankin and Beau White, took out the regatta with a very impressive picket fence scorecard
In second, Pete and Bailey Skewes demonstrated an inspiring return to action
And in third, Scott Spencer and Bec Greentree making it look very easy!
And a very special mention - to our young junior Oskar, on board the Taipan with Craig did an awesome job!

Racing cancelled for Sunday 30 March

Message from Brian - Been looking closely at Sunday’s wind forecast over the last few days with the current forecast of 30 kts SW by early afternoon being very consistent over that period. Given the above, I’m making an early call to cancel Sunday’s racing. Thanks everyone, hopefully we’ll catch up the following Sunday.

FROM THE SWR REGATTA COMMITTEE

It's with a significantly heavy heart that we share the news that we've had to pull the plug on the Darren Lowder Memorial regatta at South West Rocks this weekend. Due to the weather and travel warnings for the entire mid-north coast we’ve unfortunately been left with no choice and have wanted to give you as much notice as we can. If possible, we’ve love to push the regatta back a month to the 5-6th of April. Before we go ahead and make plans to reschedule it would be helpful to see a show of hands of who would be able to join us that weekend -please let the Committee know by replying to this post.

Hi all, given the forecast for today, we have decided to cancel racing at KCC today - Sunday 16 February 2025. I will see you at the KCC Sydney Basin Regatta on the 23rd. Have a great weekend.
