Legends come, legends go, and legends are not forgotten.
To win a Kungurri Hill Climb three times is not a fluke, it's a well earned talent.
Yesterday some of the Kungurri Hill Climb family fare-welled this legend, Clinton Andrew McFaul.
Clinton won the hill climb in 2002; 2007 & 2009.
A local Mt Martin kid, Clint has had a very long association with the hill since he was on his Peewee 50 in his jeans and gumboots.
The hill climb was never far from Clint's thoughts as he would make contact and offer help to get the event back on the motocross calendar.

Clint leaves behind his wife and best friend of 24 years, Julie; his children, Annie & Billy, to whom we send all our love, prayers and kind thoughts. We also send our sincere condolences to Merv & Mary; Eddie & Jodie and families and Julie's family.

RIP Clint, you've left your mark on this hill.

😞Sorry to advise that there will not be a hill climb event this year.
We plan to regroup early next year with a new date for 2022 and see if we can gather enough interest to support us and continue to bring this great event to the motocross community.
Stay tuned and think about assisting as a volunteer if you are keen to keep this event on the annual motocross calendar.

Hi to everyone checking in on the hill climb. Apologies for the late notice.

We have a situation where we would love to present you with the event scheduled for August 28 & 29. BUT, due to late planning on our behalf and further issues beyond our control we are looking for expressions of interest from a motocross club to run the event.

It may be too late for this year, but looking forward, we are keen to form a new partnership with another club for 2022.

👍 Just a note if there is interest this year: The whole area is slashed thanks to Dave; Lee & Jamie, the hill has started being whipper snipped - big thanks to Josh Jenner & Brenden Stelmach. Thanks to Bruce; Sarah; Lyn & Brett for turning out to assist and check out what is required to be done to run the event.

🤞Expressions of interest can be emailed to the promoter of the event Dows Creek Hall Committee Inc. by 28th July. Email to [email protected]

Nice and green up here,
with lots of grass to cut. 😟

Well the time has come to officially announce the cancellation of the 2020 hill climb. Just another COVID 19 statistic. 😫
It's the uncertainty of restrictions after Stage 3 in July, making it impossible to plan and put an event into action in short time. Not to mention the hoops we would have to jump through to hold such an event.
Just keep practising 🛵🛵🛵 and keep supporting our sponsor Bullet Bikes Superstore, Mackay. Bring on 2021.
Thanks everyone see you next year. A partnership between Dows Creek Community Hall. Sugar City Dirt Riders Inc and hill climb land owners Stacie Collis and David Laidlaw.
