Eddy Merckx,don allen ,Gary Clively the best in the world with two of Australia’s best ,it was a special day in my shop in black rock , Gary turned up and eddy remembered him when they raced , I believe don always kept in touch with eddy over the years ,I was surprised when I started talking about Aussie riders to eddy he said where’s Stephen Pate ,he remembered him Winning the world sprint title in Ghent ,he even talked about Sid Patterson how good he was I was surprised,if I had that day again I would have invited people like Gordon Johnson ,John bylsma Phil Anderson ,etc there’s a big list that could have shared a magic moment int time,I had dinner with him that night and I had to keep pinching myself that this guy was at the table talking to me .
