Riverland 2 Day meeting, what a great weekend away with SDK and all our other Dirt Karting friends.

Was a successful but very trying weekend and learning a lot.

Day 1 at Loxton Kart Club
Off pole in heat 1, rolled around waiting for the green flag to drop, Damon missed the start properly and finished in 7th

Heat 2, Started 10th finished 7th
Heat 3 started 4th, engine developed a miss fire, finished 10th
Engine had no spark when we got it in, swapped engine with his standard Speedway engine for Heat 4

Started 8th and finished 10th with an underpowered engine compared to the ported ones.

When we got to Renmark I pulled the engine out and found a broken wire on the coil that goes to the TCI module, repaired it best i could and bolted it back on. Engine fired straight away 😁

Day 2 Renmark.

Heat 1 Started 4th and engine fired but wouldn't run under load, DNS

Fuel running out intake so swapped carbys.

Heat 2 Started 2nd going clockwise ( reverse to speedway) Damon took the lead into turn 1 and powered away leading 16 others for 4 laps until 2nd place decided only way to pass him was punt him off the track coming into a corner, spinning Damon and taking out several other drivers. Questioned other drivers actions, no issue with it from Stewards 🤬

Checked over kart as best we could, lots of cable ties holding front bar still and rear bar pushed in but that's all we could see.

Heat 3 Started 7th and finished 8th, didnt want to pull as hard as Heat before?

Heat 4 Started 6th and dropped back to 11 with engine not feeling right so didn't want to push it.

After cleaning kart today and assessing damages we found the throttle stop had been pushed back slightly in the crash only giving him 3/4 throttle, hence why if felt off. But that's racing.

Anyway good weekend away and lots learnt from it.

What an incredible finale to the major Speedway Kart events this season! After securing 3rd place in the Vic's, only to face a setback at the Aussies when we were gunning for a podium finish,
Damon triumphantly shattered the Allpowers curse, claiming 3rd place in Juniors thanks to K9 Racing for the Engine and Downie Family Racing for the Carby and a stunning 1st place in Junior Standards winning all 3 heats and the final

This weekend we take on the famous Allpowers 100cc Nationals hosted by Sunraysia Dirt Karters at B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway Mildura in the Speedway Karting Association of Australasia Kart,

With the disappointment of the Aussies behind us the kart has had a full strip down, chassis straightened and lots of bent bits replaced. How Damon managed to drive it as fast as he did after the crash still surprises us.

Our teams looking to finish high up on the podium for Damons last AP as a Junior before going up to Standard 130kg Seniors next season.

Mega shout outs go to Chris Hobbs for his Millimeter Perfect chassis repair, John Shipham Kart Parts for the axles and all the other broken parts, Mildura Powder Coating for the quick turn around on the Chassis and Salt Electrical for their fantastic donation to get us back on track

Here's hoping for a chean fast run this Saturday to top off a great seasons achievements.

2025/26 Aussie Title recap.

Friday Practice,
1st run was good, Kart handled perfect, 2nd run made adjustments and set the quickest time.

Saturdays heats,
H1 Started 4th finished 2nd
H2 Started 3rd finished 3rd
H3 Started 9th finished 4th

Sunday heat and final,
Damon was asked to be a flag bearer for the National Anthem (massive honour)
H4 Started 8th finished 2nd
Final Started 3rd and settled in to 4th for a few laps before making a move under 3rd, hitting a slick patch and as tyres weren't up to temp yet he spun sideways and was hit by 2 karts in the side which saw Damon end up out of the kart and on the ground. In true style he played there and gave 2 big thumbs up to let everyone know he was fine.

After being checked out by the Medical team he was allowed back in his Kart which was also checked over for safety.

He restarted out of 10th and worked his way up to 6th in 4 laps and was battling for 5th when the Yellow light came on and as he backed off the chain came off and ended his title hopes.

Always next time, the main thing is he is OK due to running the best Safety equipment out there, nose cone on the all the karts and Kenton Ferguson's rear bar he designed and made (then copied by somone else) that absorbed lots of the impact.

Today was SKAA Vic Title time at Sunraysia Dirt Karters. Damon ran against a stacked field of quick kids from all over Aus.

Heat 1, Started 3 -Finished 3rd
Heat 2, Started 5 - DNF with a dropped chain
Heat 3, Started 4 - Finished 3rd

Final saw him start from 5th and had a great battle for 2nd with another driver taking the spot several times but finishing in 3rd Place, happy with the result and can't wait for the Australian SKAA Title here in 2 weeks.

While we are unfortunately not Racing this weekend our team turned it on at the Mildura Powersports Show and Shine and Damon was invited to pit crew for Terry Kelly at B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway Mildura for the 360/LS Title.

Tomorrow night he's back helping and taking it all in to prepair for the Victorian SKAA Title.

Not the best of race meetings for us on the weekend. Heat 1 was perfect with Damon banking some good points but that's where it ended,

Heat 2 he got caught up with another kart on the 1st lap and DNF

Heat 3 he had a bad start and made a few positions up before hitting a rut and throwing a chain and another DNF,

With the Renmark Club having to do extra track maintenance on a freshly laid surface the day was getting on so we loaded up and headed for home while the kart was still straight.

Had fun as always with Turtle Racing and The Price Brothers
