Oh to be a man and operate on a 24 hour cycle, have linear gains and never have to worry about the complex hormonal shifts that impact energy and training 💭🤔

Women? We run on a 28(ish) day hormonal cycle that impacts our energy, mood, strength and recovery.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s happening:
🩸 menstrual - low energy, hormones at their lowest, training can feel hard
⚡️ follicular - energy improves as oestrogen rises. Mood improves, able to push more with training
🥰 ovulation - peak oestrogen, energy and motivation
😴 luteal - progesterone rises, energy drops, hunger increases, moods…swing

This is why the weight you easily repped last week can feel 10x harder this week. We don’t get the simplicity of a 24 hour cycle like men unfortunately.

Feeling wrecked after every workout isn’t the flex you think it is. It can actually be a big red flag 🚩

Your body adapts during your recovery not when you’re training. So if you’re not recovering, you’re not progressing.

Training smarter not just harder is the key to getting stronger, recovering better and building the body you want.

t’s giving broken record but I’ll never shut up about this 📢

How many times have you decided you wanted to lose weight, you’ve made the plan (train everyday, cut sugar/carbs, stop snacking, no more dessert, walk for an hour a day, etc etc)?

How many times have you done this, got results and maintained it long term?? If you’re still reading I’m guessing probably 0…

Fat loss should be sustainable. Yes being in a deficit is hard but your plan shouldn’t feel so restrictive your counting down the days until it’s over so you can enjoy a block of chocolate 🍫

It’s about training smarter, not harder. Eating to fuel your body, not just shrink it. Creating a plan that’s sustainable, not all-consuming.
