The League team are headed to Pemberton on Sunday to play Southerners after going down by 9 points to Deanmill last weekend. Preliminary final so now a do or die game for the Cougars. The beauty of finishing top 2 is you get a second crack at making the Grand Final. Let’s go Cougars do us proud! A huge shoutout to the Juniors today who won 2 flags!! Congratulations to everyone involved 🐈‍⬛

With our Reserves team unfortunately bowing out of finals on a soggy day in Bridgetown it is now up to the League side to keep the train rolling. We head to Manjimup on Sunday to play Deanmill and battle it out for a spot on the Grand Final. With fine conditions forecast it is sure to be a hot contest. Let’s get along to support our boys.

After a brief leave of absence for our social media manager we are back and it’s Finals time for the Cougars! With the League securing top spot they have the week off and will face Deanmill next weekend. The Reserves fell agonisingly short of second spot and will face Imperials in Bridgetown on Sunday. Go well Ressies boys!!

Off we go on the road trip to Manji. With the club finally looking a bit depleted in the mid winter injury/holiday period all players will have to put in max effort to get two wins on Saturday. Our boys have it in them to keep the train rolling towards finals.

We are all about team first here at the Cougars but there has been a few individual efforts lately that need to be recognised. Firstly to the 8 players and 3 staff that made the Journey up to Perth for country week. You all did your club and the region proud and represented Kojonup in the best way possible. Secondly Congratulations to Harry Taylor for your selection in the Country Week All-Star team. A great effort and one you should be extremely proud of. And last but not least, to our Coach Travis Abbot for his selection in the State Country Team that play South Australia this weekend in Perth. Some great recognition for a huge amount of hard work all year long. Well done everyone!

Round 13 saw a huge matchup with two clubs both up the pointy end of the ladder. The League had an outstanding victory showing Deanmill what they are capable of when everyone plays their role. The midfield fired all day lead by the skipper Matt Marinoni and Brad Ashton which allowed 11 different players to hit the scoreboard. A convincing win but there can be no complacency after Deanmill had a few key outs and a couple of injuries on the day. The Reserves dominated a lot of the first half with field position. Without their key target up forward they struggled to put on scoreboard pressure. They had great passages of play against the best team in the comp and showed they can match it with anyone. More effort required for the final 3 games of the season!

Footy is back this weekend after the week off due to the Nutrien Carnival. Well done to all those boys involved and congratulations on bringing home the title. The two biggest games of the season to date are here with both clubs sitting right up the pointy end of the ladder. Fine conditions forecast for Saturday so we hope for a huge crowd to come on and down to support. Go Cougars!
