Vale Edna Jones. 🕊️

It is with heavy hearts that we farewell Edna Jones, aged 96, a woman who was — and will always be — the matriarch of the Penrith Waratahs.

Anyone who has been part of the Penrith Junior League community over the years will know the names Edna and George Jones. Whether she was serving up sausage sandwiches from the old caravan canteen at Jamison Park, or keeping the A grade boys in line when they got a bit too cheeky, Edna was always there, every week, without fail.

For years, Edna meticulously kept the Club's records in her own handwritten books, treasured pages we still hold onto today.

Together, Edna and George dedicated their entire lives to building this Club into something special, earning the love and respect of the whole district along the way.

So many of "our kids," now in their 40s with families of their own, still carry fond memories of Edna and her cheeky antics. She never forgot a face, and she never forgot a name.

While our hearts are heavy today, we take comfort in knowing that Edna and George are together again.

Sending all our love to Edna's son David and the entire Jones family at this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Edna. The Waratahs will never forget you. 💙🤍

💙🤍 14 DIV 3 – WHAT A SEASON! 💙🤍

Our 14 Div 3 boys played their Grand Final yesterday in a huge game against Blacktown Workers. They fought hard right until the final whistle, with Blacktown eventually taking out the win 18–12.

While it wasn’t the result we were hoping for, there is so much for these boys to be proud of. 💙

They put everything into their season this year, taking out the Minor Premiership and earning their place on the Grand Final stage. Their determination, teamwork and effort throughout the year has been fantastic to watch.

A massive congratulations to all the boys and their coaching staff on an incredible season.

Hold your heads high – you should be very proud of what you’ve achieved! 👏👏

💙🤍 PROUD OF OUR 14 DIV 4 BOYS 🤍💙

It wasn’t quite the result we were hoping for yesterday, with our 14 Div 4 boys going down to Windsor 22–20 in an incredibly hard-fought Grand Final.

The boys battled right until the final whistle and left absolutely everything out on the field. 💪

What a season this group has had! Coming together as a new team at the beginning of the year, they quickly formed an awesome bond and have played their hearts out for each other all season. To make it all the way to the Grand Final is an achievement they should be extremely proud of — we certainly are! 💙

A huge congratulations to all of our boys and their coaching staff on a fantastic season. Hold your heads high — you’ve done yourselves, your families and the Waratahs proud.

Onwards and upwards… bring on 2027! 🙌

It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Penrith Waratahs life member Jim Mason.

Jim was a lovely man who was involved with the Club for many years, along with many other Clubs and associations in the district.

He was the true essence of community spirit.

RIP Jim 💙🤍

Jim Mason OAM, who had a 45-year career in local government and worked tirelessly on the famed Penrith Show, has died.

Commiserations to our awesome Under 16 League Tag girls going down 30-4 against Minchinbury in their Grand Final today.
