This week I lost a ...

This pic might not seem like much, but to me its a woman supporting another women to achieve her goals (and my dad).

She was a in my art world, and my sailing world. She fostered and influenced many artists and sportspeople over the years. She was my first art teacher.

She was a sportswoman who tackled "many firsts" and supoorted so many in her community through coaching, being the local sports photographer, active memeber and trainer of multiple sports clubs in my local community. A real go getter.

Thankyou for sharing your passion and determination to go after all the good things in life, you will live on in all whom you supported.

May your rest well Maggie.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Life Member Maggie Patterson had passed away. She has left behind a lasting impression on many.

One of KIYC’s long term members is currently in Hospital.

A sail past was organised in front of the hospital for her.

Thanks Maggie for all you have done for the club over the years.

The opening of the 2025/2026 sailing season is this coming Saturday 18th October.

A midday start for hopefully a race or 2 commencing from 2pm.

We extend the invitation to members old and new and look forward to seeing boats on the water.

We had a very productive working bee a couple of weeks ago and look forward to enjoying the changes and improvements.

The Bar will be open from midday.

We hope to see you there and that the weather is kind.

Members of Kangaroo Island Yacht club would like to pass on condolences to the Pain family on the passing of Valda, especially her 3 girls who were sailing members of the club.

Valda held a flag officer position, was a valued member and great supporter of the club for many years.

Hi everyone, our AGM is this Sunday, from 1230pm lunch will be a Beef Curry and rice for only $10, please book via [email protected]. Meal will be followed by Juniors Presentations then by the AGM.
Come on down support the club and get involved, multiple positions available including Vice Commodore and Rear Commodore.
