Made from football leather, so delightfully well oiled to protect the tools inside.

An independent review that has blown my mind.

These are screen shots from the owner of the RMW saddle shown recently.

To see the words "top tier" make my day. I think of myself as a perpetual student just trying to be better than yesterday.

Remember the messed up Hunter Russel saddle?
Well here it is now.
I have replaced the pocket rigging, and adjusted the position of the Dee.
The skirts have been fully re-fleeced with real shearling.
Sirrup leathers replaced, and fenders edged.
All up a pretty decent rebuild.
No, I didn't go the full clean and detail, just to keep costs down for the owner.
So here it is in her restored glory.

Last photo is what we started with just to remind you.

What do you reckon? Would you have done it this way?

Recently I have enjoyed working the beautiful craftsmanship of an Iconic Australian.

Here is a lovely example of a 1965 RM Williams stock saddle.
I believe it to be an example of The C**t.
This one sports:
a rough out seat,
and flaps

It has its original stockmans Quart Pot and original stamped RMW girth.

Feast your eyes people, a piece of our heritage.

I did a simple repair the other day, and gave the saddle a bit of a look over at the same time.
Well may i say its delightful to receive happy feedback from the owner.

So here's a Cactus Relentless. Before and after.

For the record, this was not a full detail, but i did give it a roadworthy, and discovered that it really needed an off side billet, because the rigging hardware on these is basic black steel, and of course that rusts. So the flakey rust had damaged the webbing latigo, causing an invisible and somewhat dangerous weakness.

Anyway really nice to get such lovely feedback
