“Go means go.”

I see it all the time. It’s a very common issue…but it really seemed to be the ‘issue of the week’ on this last coaching trip I’ve just got home from.

So many horses behind the leg. Not truly forward. Not reacting.

And here’s the problem…
You cannot fix anything until the horse is in front of the leg.

If you ask and don’t get a response — and then just keep riding — you’re teaching them to ignore you.

That’s where it starts.

Clarity.
You ask → you get a response.

Go means GO.
Not eventually.
Not when they feel like it.

Once they’re in front of the leg, everything else becomes trainable — balance, rhythm, straightness, control.

But without that? You’re just negotiating.

Set the standard.
Be clear.
Follow through.

Clarity + Consistency➡️ confidence = results

Super two days at Queensland Showjumping Club we took 9 horses all jumping some super rounds. Particularly impressed with our 3 five years old all making big progress. A big shout out and thank you goes to Matt, Ken, Carly and the entire committee. You guys do such a great job for our sport and it’s always much appreciated being able to go jump on good ground with good gear that’s only improving. Stonewall Grand Prix Show 2026
Last weekend we made the trip down to the incredible Stonewall. We’ve been going to Stonewall from its inception and just when you think it can’t get any better it does! Incredible ground, wonderful courses and just an all round great vibe, with jump offs you just don’t get anywhere else than on a big field. We took 4 horses down all coming away with some great results.

Stonewall Young Horse Show Feb 2026
So proud of our three 5year olds having their big interstate trip last month, all gained invaluable experience. Castle King GHP picked up a 2nd in the first 5yr old class with Ultimatum GHP 2nd in the 5year old final and his twin sister in 4th!! Very excited for the season ahead with these lovely young horses. 💕 a big thank you as always to Krissy Harris and the entire stonewall team these shows just get better and better. Also to my own team especially super groom Millie 🥝

Where do we start, the story of a champion.
My grandfather bought bucks bunny as a foal off our groom at the time Di for just $200 as my first pony. He was the result of an accident with the neighbours thoroughbred stallion jumping the fence and getting to Di’s buckskin pony mare.
Bucky then grew to big (a meer 15.1hh), was to talented and far to cheeky to be my pony. So mum rode him to Grand Prix level, he won Senior State Titles, Australian Speed titles, multiple Grand Prix’s across the country and became quite the sensation on the circuit. When I was 13yrs old I attempted to ride him with little success, he didn’t like a miss and only wanted to be ridden his way. After 18months of falling off a lot I finally worked out how to ride him and the rest was history! From Runner up Australian Junior Champion to Leading Girl Rider at Sydney Royal we had the time of our lives and I owe so much of who I am today to the beautiful Bucky.
Thank you Bucky from the bottom of our hearts for being the absolute champion that you were!! It was a privilege to call you ours for your entire life.
As Whinnie the poo would say, “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard”
