🌊 Community Education Day – South Coast Surf Clubs 🌊

Join your local South Coast surf clubs from Warilla to Mollymook for a free Community Education Day!

🗓 Date: Sunday 19th April
⏰ Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm

As the patrol season comes to an end and beaches become less populated, our lifesavers are hosting important sessions to help keep the community safe.

💡 What you’ll learn:
• How to correctly use tourniquets recently installed along many NSW beaches
• Live demonstrations on using AEDs (defibrillators)
• What to do and who to call in an emergency

This is a great opportunity to build your confidence and learn lifesaving skills that could make a real difference.

Everyone is welcome – come down, get involved, and help keep our beaches safe year-round!

// NSW beaches are set to be extremely hazardous from today, with large swell, damaging winds and waves over 5m expected along the coast. Conditions from the Hunter to the South Coast are unsafe for swimming, rock fishing and boating, with risks of coastal erosion and powerful rip currents.

Even once the swell eases, dangerous conditions will continue into the weekend. If beaches are closed, stay out of the water and do not put yourself or our lifesavers at risk.

Stay safe and stay informed.

Don't forget! SLSA has granted special permission for active members to wear their patrol shirts to work or uni on Red and Yellow Day.

Wearing the iconic uniform can lead to questions and conversations around surf lifesaving, joining a club, and most importantly, swimming between the red and yellow flags.

RED & YELLOW DAY

Information from https://redandyellowday.org.au/

Red & Yellow Day is a nationwide celebration on March 4, 2026, to recognise the thousands of Surf Life Saving volunteers who dedicate their time to keeping our beaches safe.
Now it’s our turn to show they can count on us, by simply wearing the colours on Red & Yellow Day. By donating. By fundraising. By signing up at your local club, and flying the same flags we’re taught to swim between. And by staying beach-safe.

In doing so, you’ll help Surf Life Saving turn the tide on coastal drowning. Because when you back the surf lifesavers on Red & Yellow Day, you can help save lives too.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN RED AND YELLOW DAY
Whether you're a baker whipping up red and yellow treats, a teacher planning a themed day, a team training up together, or hosting a sausage sizzle at home with plenty of red and yellow sauce, it all helps show your support. However you choose to celebrate, make it red and yellow and share it with a photo!
