As we begin our next chapter of Team N Training, I would love us to remember the camaraderie that has shaped us and use it to encourage one another forward.

This is not only about remembering camaraderie. It is about living it now.

We have eight training sessions remaining this month. Each one is an opportunity to move, encourage someone, support a teammate and create a new memory together.

Your attendance is not only for you. Your presence may be what helps someone else turn up, keep going or feel that they belong. Attend the sessions you can, invite someone who may need encouragement and help make each session matter. If you cannot attend, you can still encourage someone who can.

Please share a memory of camaraderie by answering one or more of these:

- What was happening?
- What do you remember most?
- Why does this moment represent camaraderie?
- What new memory would you like to create?

Share each memory as a separate comment. The person may be on your team, another team in our current challenge or not taking part at all. Add a photo and some context if you have one, or describe the memory instead.

Share one today. Add another this week if more comes to mind. Throughout this month, return to Like or Love the memories that connect with you. You can support more than one.

Philippians 3:13 says:

“I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.”

We are not looking back to live in the past. We are looking back to give thanks, learn from these moments and encourage one another towards what is ahead.

You can share your memory now. If you would like to look deeper into why this means so much to me, here is my example.

I would like to begin with Boo. Jess Edwards

Boo has always challenged me, supported me and helped make me better.

She earned Keysie Commando rank before me by running four kilometres at under five minutes per kilometre. That pushed me to improve and made me relish those little victories when I could just nip her at the finish line of the Jells Park Fun Run or Spring into Shape, hehehe. Who did one of those with us?

When we had one of our huskies nicknamed ‘the Fluff’, it was because he was fluffy and ran so lightly, just like Boo. Boo occasionally gave the word “fluff” another meaning as she flew past people during a road run. Who else ever got hit by one of those? Hahaha.

Punish the Trainers had no score. It was only Boo and me completing it, and what I remember most is her laughing and smiling through it. Who remembers watching or helping put us through it?

The photo of Boo with the Bird Award was taken at Team Bootcamp. This award is not for the strongest or fastest person. It recognises the person who gives their best effort and displays the best character. It is not chosen by a leader. The person who last earned it chooses who has earned it next.

Who remembers seeing Boo perform at her best, give everything and encourage others before the previous holder passed it to her? As the award says, it was not given. It was earned.

Boo also completed more of our toughest Commando Bootcamps and took on the Kokoda Trail.

Even at our engagement party, straight after the speeches, she bowled a strike in front of everyone. I stepped up next and bowled a spare. Who remembers seeing that happen?

Her dad chuckled and said something cheeky to me afterwards, all in praise of her. You could see how proud he was.

Then there were my crazy ideas—and there still are.

Our first Tough Bootcamp mission was the Sub Run. We completed exercise missions inside Video Ezy, ran to Sportsmart for more exercises and then continued to Subway.

After two hours of exercising and running, everyone was hungry. Waiting for us were two meatball subs, but no, we were not allowed to eat them. They were the batons that had to reach the next person at the next point.

Who remembers those three Noble Park stores? Video Ezy, Sportsmart and Subway are all gone now, but the memory remains.

Boo may not have needed challenges like this for herself, but she would do them for me. Once her team was involved, she would find more for them.

Even when we went skydiving, I found it traumatic while she smiled and laughed through it all—once her screaming stopped, of course.

In the Tough Mudder photo, Boo is running towards the ramp while I reach down to catch her hand. It was one moment when I got to return some of the support she has given me so many times.

The honest part is that I know I have not done that for her often enough. Prayerfully, I am still learning. Progress, not perfection, right?

Across all these memories, Boo has continued daring to be different. I believe her dad would be proud of the strength, humour and courage with which she lives, and of the way she honours him simply by continuing to be herself.

No one has shared more of this journey with me than Boo. I am so grateful for every effort and moment: the challenges, laughter, injuries, recoveries, strengths, weaknesses and all the ups and downs of our relationship and journey together.

I am also deeply grateful for everyone who has witnessed and shared part of this journey with us. Those who trained with us years ago, those who continued through different seasons, those who returned, those taking part in our current challenge and those who remain part of our story outside it.

Whenever you have chosen to invest your effort and money with us, you could have invested it elsewhere. In those moments, you chose to support us and our family, train with us and share part of your story with ours. Whether that was once or many times, I have never taken it for granted.

You have witnessed our best and hardest moments, borne with us, encouraged us and continued to show up. As you have done this for us, I hope that at some point I have done the same for you and become part of your story.

Honour, to me, means recognising those efforts and moments. Whether you shared one session, one season or many years with us, what you gave matters. It has helped shape us and Team N Training.

Your memory and what it means to you make it unique. Thank you for sharing and continuing to be part of our story.

Love Azza ❤️👊
