Kevin Rogers
One of the most loved and respected men to ever pull on a Wolfe Tones jersey is heading home to Ireland from Melbourne for good.
League titles. Championship medals. A collection of Gosfords. Countless Man of the Match and Player of the Tournament performances. He proudly represented Victoria in the state games and later managed Victoria up in Brisbane, always giving everything, and staying involved. His achievements speak for themselves.
But above all, it’s the man Rogey is that truly defines his time at Wolfe Tones.
For over a decade, rogey has been at the heart of this club, not just for what he did on the pitch kicking scores, but for the energy, character and personality he brought off it. The celebrations, the trips away, the unforgettable nights and the endless memories. If something was happening, you could be sure Rogey was in the middle of it. He had a serious love for a party and made sure everyone around him was having a good time too.
Rogey has built lifelong friendships and memories, welcomed new faces into the club, and played a massive role in shaping the spirit and culture that make Wolfe Tones what it is today.
He’ll be hugely missed not just within the Tones, but by the friends he’s made all across Melbourne and the wider Irish community he’s bonded with over the years.
As he makes the move back home to Ireland, we wish him nothing but success, happiness and plenty more good times ahead.
You’ll be missed more than you know, Rogey.
