Weeroona Bay Swimmers Bay swimming in Victoria For many years names were logged and water temperatures recorded. Come down and swim sometime and you will never look back.

For many years a group of swimmers headed off from the Bunker at the Lord Mayors camp end at Portsea Front Beach (Weeroona Bay) to swim the 1.2km across this iconic bay. The swim now sets off from Portsea Pier at 8am during holidays and is very popular during Dec/Jan. Swimmers enjoy a coffee after and many friendships have developed over the years. Hi all, swimmers are now generally leaving from the Portsea Pier 730 -745 am weekdays band 745-8am on weekends.. you will find swimmers of all abilities every day. Usually hot showers available and coffee at the local cafe afterwards. Swim at your own risk. Water is great.

Swimmers, plse pass on the safest swim at this time of year is to avoid boats docked at the pier. The suggestion is the 8am swim group swim towards the heads (Police Point) regardless of the tide. Up and back will be 1.6 km. to avoid bumping into other swimmers swim deeper towards the heads and shallower towards the Pier.
