From stuck to structured💪 This Men’s Health Month, we’re highlighting what real progress can look like.

Meet David - after years of cycling through dieting phases, inconsistent training, and injury setbacks, he knew something needed to change.

He had the equipment, he had the intent, but what he needed was structure, guidance, and a plan that actually worked for his body.

Over 12 weeks, David committed to a coaching approach that addressed his injuries, improved how he moved, and built a sustainable strength and nutrition routine.

With the support of our integrated team, the result wasn’t just weight loss, it was:
âś” stronger, more confident training
âś” better movement and fewer setbacks
âś” a clear sense of control over his health

This is what long‑term change looks like.
Not extremes, just the right plan, applied consistently.

You finish a workout feeling exhausted, sweaty, out of breath, muscles burning... It feels productive. But weeks pass and your body isn't changing...

The missing piece is stimulus.

Muscle only changes when it’s forced to work hard enough, in a way that can be repeated and progressed over time.

That means:
- Controlled reps instead of rushing
- Exercises you can repeat
- Loads that actually challenge you
- Sets that feel very very hard by the end

When that’s in place, effort starts to work, and this is what I’ll be breaking down properly with AEM members in a few weeks...

Running shouldn’t wreck your body.
With Global Run Day here, it’s a good reminder that running is meant to support your health - not leave you feeling beat up, flat, or constantly managing niggles.
For a lot of adults, the issue isn’t running itself.
It’s how the body is handling the load.
Too much too soon, not enough strength, poor load distribution, and lack of recovery all add up over time - and that’s when things start to feel off.
If your running leaves you with ongoing tightness, soreness or recurring injuries, it’s worth stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.
With the right structure, strength work and support, most running injuries are completely manageable.
Enquire via our website if you want help building a plan that supports your running long‑term.

You don't need a complicated diet and laundry list of supplements to improve your insulin. You need consistency in the basics. What you eat, when you eat, and how you move all play a role. Get these right and your body starts working with you instead of against you.

Save this as a reminder of where to start.

You step on the scale, expecting it to reflect the work you’ve been putting in. It doesn’t. And that’s the moment most people start second‑guessing everything they’re doing.

The scale reflects a lot more than body fat.

Day‑to‑day changes are often driven by food, water, stress, and recovery. They are not exclusively a reflection of actual progress.

When decisions are based on those short‑term fluctuations, consistency breaks.
But when decisions are based on trends and behaviour, progress becomes predictable.

This is exactly how we assess progress at AEM.

If you want help applying this properly to your own training and nutrition, apply for 1-1 coaching via our website.

And if you want to understand the full system behind it, we’ll be breaking this down in an upcoming Member's Event... 🤫

Insulin is often demonised but it’s a normal, essential hormone that helps your body manage and use energy after you eat.

Every time you eat - especially meals containing carbohydrates - insulin is released to help move nutrients into your cells. That’s how your body fuels training, recovery and everyday function.
Where people get confused is linking insulin directly to weight gain.

Weight gain doesn’t happen because insulin is “high.”
It happens when there is a consistent energy surplus over time, regardless of where that energy comes from.
Insulin simply helps manage that process.

When training is consistent and nutrition is structured, insulin supports:
• energy use
• muscle repair
• performance and recovery

When intake consistently exceeds what your body needs, that same system stores the excess.

No single food.
No single hormone.
Just how your body responds to overall intake, activity and habits.

Understanding this removes a lot of unnecessary fear around carbs and makes nutrition much simpler to manage.

More defined abs don’t come from doing hundreds of crunches. 👀🔥

Training, nutrition, recovery, and consistency all play a role and the small habits you repeat daily matter more than quick fixes.

You’re in the gym most days, you’re trying to eat well, yet you’re still not seeing the change you expected.

The issue here isn’t effort.
It’s how that effort is being applied.

Training can still feel hard without creating the stimulus your body needs to change.
Food can still feel “clean” without actually supporting performance or recovery.

Over the next few weeks, I’m breaking down what actually matters so your training and nutrition start working for you.
