2020 HCV Junior Summer Competition
With the easing of COVID 19 restrictions within regional Victoria HCV will be running an eight (8) week competition beginning Monday, 19 October 2020.
The competition will be run and teams co-ordinated by HCV.
This competition is NOT club based but rather requires players to nominate to participate in the competition. HCV competitions committee along with HCV club coaches will then select teams for each age group (aiming for four per age group).
Competition format:
HCV will run three age groups:
• Under 11 Mixed - under the age of 11 as at the 1st January 2020
• Under 14 Mixed - under the age of 14 as at the 1st January 2020
• Under 18 Mixed - under the age of 18 as at the 1st January 2020
The match format will be:
• Under 11: 4 x 12 minute quarters
• Under 14: 4 x 12 minute quarters
• Under 18: 4 x 15 minute quarters
Player Nomination:
Players are to nominate via the online player nomination form Player nomination form (event) and submit to the HCV prior to Friday 16 October 2020.
Total competition fee per player is $30.00 which includes all game and umpire fees. Invoicing of players will occur after the competition has commenced.
All nominated players will then go into the draft of their chosen age group from which coaches select the teams in a fair and even distribution.
Players who registered with Hockey Victoria for the 2020 Winter season do not need to complete another HV registration. Players not yet registered in 2020 will need to complete a 2020 HV summer registration prior to participating in the competition.
Players may choose to nominate for multiple divisions but will only be allowed to play for one team in a specific division once drafted.
Coaching Nominations – 12 in total required minimum:
Prospective coaches are asked to apply via the online coach’s nomination form Coach's nomination form (event) and submit to HCV prior to Friday 16 October 2020.
Coaches are requested to be available prior to the competition start to attend a meeting in the week ending Friday 16 October 2020 or be part of a conference call to finalise the player draft.
The competition organisers aim to have a coach appointed for every team and have utilise a mix of coaches from all HCV clubs.
The junior competitions and use of the Bendigo Regional Hockey Complex is expected to be allowed once the Return to Hockey Guidelines (Hockey Central Vic) are reviewed, update and approved.
