The Australian Institute of Sport has published the following document relevant to us in Community Football.

https://ais.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/730376/35845_AIS-Framework-for-rebooting-sport_FA.pdf

It is a lengthy document but I encourage each participant to read it, particularly from page 12 onwards.

We'll keep you posted on preparations for the start of our season as more information comes to hand.

Hello Football Enthusiasts

While we are taking a break from normal football activities, I thought I would let you know of our initiative to assist teams and communities in need of second hand football uniforms.
We work with a wide range of teams, communities, and community leaders who are all in need but don’t have the funds to purchase new.
You may also know of teams looking for uniforms. We’d like to assist.
If you can help out or know a team/s in need please feel free to reach out to us at any time.
We can be contacted via www.communityfootball.org.au or via [email protected]
Here's a group of seasonal workers from Vanuatu, who are currently in Mareeba, and with the support of Jimboomba and Acacia Ridge Football Clubs, we could supply them with jerseys to train and play 6-a-sides games.

Hi Everyone

As you are all well aware our season is currently on pause, and this looks like continuing well beyond our original delayed start time of tonight.

At this point in time, we will simply follow health warnings by the Government. Before any start to the competition, we will collectively make a decision on proceeding, start and finish dates for the season, and on any adjustments we think are necessary to provide maximum safety to our participants, their families, the general public and our Clubs.

In preparing for any return to football, which might be some time away, we have the draft draw completed, with games missed being moved to after the original Round 18, and the following scenarios as some options:

• To continue with an 18 round season, the latest kick off date would be Friday 17 July, with 2 weeks off in September School holidays and finishing on 11 December (a 2 week Finals Series vs. 3 week Finals Series);
• An earlier kick off date than 17 July, with the number of rounds and Finals Series to be negotiated;
• A later kick off date that 17 July, and a season based more on a Summer Series than a Winter Season (further discussions to take place as we have more information from Government).

My personal message to you all is to “hang in there and stay as active as you can”. Let’s look forward to getting out there and playing again, whenever that may be. Social isolation sucks.

And our Clubs also need us more than ever at the moment. They are such an important part of our local Communities. Strong Clubs = Strong Communities. Let them know that we’ll be back, no matter what.

Take care everyone.
