Just over a month ago we saw the completion of our first Winter season in the city, & to say it was a success is an understatement.
To be able to throw this competition together on such short notice, on a Sunday afternoon, using a completely untested format seemed to be a match made in heaven.
With teams & teammates changing each week based on player ratings & computer-generated selections, all players took this opportunity to play with players who have often been their opposition & against players who would normally be their teammates.
To see the experienced heads of our competition taking time to teach/mentor/up skill their differing teammates, as well as watching the less experienced players listening/absorbing/practicing what they were being taught, each weekend, is a testament to the community & culture we have here at Melbourne City Oztag & makes me proud to be in charge of this Association.
Having received such positive feedback from our community about this competition, & the format, only brings excitement & anticipation for next Winter as we look to expand to more teams.
Finally, successful competitions can’t be run without a support crew & it would be remiss of me if I didn’t thank them…

To Ellen at .lens_ for your action shots of our players during the finals. They are amazing! I do, & the players will (when they see them), appreciate your time & effort in capturing these.
