UNSW Redback Racing UNSW Redback Racing is a student led project that designs, builds and races an open wheeled race car

Located within the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales, the UNSW Redback Racing Formula SAE team welcomes UNSW students from all disciplines across the university. The team designs, constructs and races a small open wheeled race car and competes against all major Australian and international universities at the annual Formula SAE-Australasia competition, run by the Society of Automotive Engineers, Australasia.

Throughout June, UNSW Redback Racing visited Blakehurst High School, Thomas Hassall Anglican College, and Ulladulla High School to showcase the diverse engineering pathways and opportunities available at UNSW.

Engaging with over 300 students across Years 9 to 12, the team delivered interactive presentations on practical and hands-on engineering activities. By connecting secondary curriculum concepts to real-world race engineering, the visits aimed to demystify STEM pathways and inspire the next generation of young engineers.

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff and students at each school for their hospitality and enthusiasm. We look forward to expanding our outreach initiatives and welcoming future talent into the UNSW engineering community

Redback Racing are exhibiting during the World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) at Sydney Motorsport Park. The WTAC celebrates all things motorsport from drifting, straight line racing to a brilliant car show. Redback will bring RB24, our FSAE car turning heads with its exclusive 25th-anniversary livery. Come chat with the team and talk all things engineering. 🏎️💨

Redback Racing would like to thank our sponsor Teltonika for their contributions to our team.
Our team members use Teltonika's Remote Management System (RMS) to connect to the high speed routers mounted in the car, allowing them to debug, tweak settings, and collect data from virtually anywhere. Teltonika also provides us with workshops, giving our members opportunities to gain valuable skills and training.
