The Kensington Gardens Bowling and Tennis club has a long and proud history since its formation in 1919. It has one of the most attractive sporting settings for lawn bowls and lawn tennis in South Australia, nestled amongst the gum trees of Kensington Gardens Reserve. It comprises the Kensington Marryatville Bowling Club and the Kensington Gardens Lawn Tennis Club. The Club has state of the art sy

nthetic bowling greens and lawn tennis courts. All rinks and courts have night lighting. They are playable year round and are a benchmark for quality, regularly hosting state and national tournaments. Our large clubhouse is licensed with downstairs and upstairs bars and kitchen facilities that cater for big and small events. The clubhouse and greens are available for hire for private and corporate functions. Our membership spans a wide range of ages and abilities catering for purely casual social players as well as competition players up to the highest standards. The National Week of Deaf People is a week-long celebration of Deaf Individuals and the Australian Deaf community.

This year’s theme focuses on building inclusive communities for all, with initiatives such as the International Day of Sign Language (September 23) promoting the importance of alternative communication methods for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

With almost 20,000 people using Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to communicate every day, awareness is growing, with increased resources to help new learners.
