SSWA ROARS INTO ALBANY!
The Marri Park Tavern WA Super Sedan Series returns this weekend after a month off for round three brought to you by Glenn’s Heavy Recovery and Towing at Albany Speedway.
Eleven cars are set to contest the third round as last start winner Nathan Thiele will enter as one of the favourites for victory.
Thiele was too strong on a dry and dusty track at Collie, and will head to Albany looking to make it two wins on the trot.
Thiele will be joined by fellow Mount Barker resident Rob Knox who will chase his first win of the season in Albany on Saturday night.
Zac Minshull put on a heck of a show on Fast Friday at the Perth Motorplex in November, and will look to to go to victory lane for a second time this season when he hits the track on Saturday night at Albany.
Warren Minshull returns to Albany where he has previously finished sixth in the National Super Sedan Title. Minshull will look to repeat that form as he also chases his first win of the season.
‘Filthy’ Phil Barton will make the enormous 2500 kilometre trek from Broome to Albany to race with us for the first time this season. Barton has previously finished fourth in the National Title at Albany and will also be looking to claim his first win of the season.
Glynn McBeath has been on the podium in both rounds this season, and will be hoping to replicate that form on his home track of Albany this weekend.
Darren Coles in his debut season has also finished on the podium in both rounds to date. Coles will look continue that form and make it three podiums from three starts on Saturday night.
Modified hot shoe Shane Devonshire makes his first SSWA start aboard a Mt Barker Express Racing entry. Devonshire shook the car down at Mount Barker a couple of weeks ago and will be looking for a strong showing at Albany on Saturday night.
Darren Larson won the opening round of the season at Manjimup, and will be hoping for more of the same come Saturday night at Albany.
Bryce Fisher will make his first SSWA start of the season, and returns to Albany where he had a monster roll over late last season. Fisher will be looking to put that behind him and pick up a good result in his first start of the season.
Lukas Lampert and Steve Larson round out the field as they chase a strong performance at Albany.
Racing is set to get underway at 530pm with each driver set to compete in three heat races to set the field for the main event.
